Probably someone already posted this, but I just orderd a HALO B factory direct and I have a feeling that was a bad move on my part. I have been hearing scarry stories about HALO Bs and IR3s not working too well with each other. Anyways I was wondering if any of you buys out there with HALO's and an IR3 are having any problems? Does it work good or bad?
Thanks.

It may take some tinkering with. I have seen them right out of the box and give no trouble. One of my bud's had one that needed to be "greased" (dissassemble and grease the drive belt) before he had sucess, and that was with an LCD. Give it a chance first. I swore off Halo before I greased my belt, but now will probably buy another one for backup.

Grease the belt as Tommy said...and if it still pushes through your detent...get a new one, like a cobra indestruct.

i heard that "greasing" the belt will eliminate the chopping problem

make sure you use Havoline 10w30 on that belt for superior slippage :p

No, no. Don't use motor oil. It will deteriorate the rubber belt and make it snap in no time. Use oil or grease that is made for paintball markers. Love juice, Shocker lube, Dow 33, etc.

Greasing the belt totally helps. So does the Cobra Indestruct. My IR3 and LCD both shoot great now, with Halo's.

And Odyssey has new software for the Halo B to make it not push as hard, but still be as fast. It's $10 get it upgraded. I just sent my Halo's in to get serviced. I'll let ya know how the new software works.

yea if it works well i might get a halo but there all to heavy and big the revvy is just perfect. Wonder if they will have a force fed 12v? :)

Heavy? It ain't that heavy. I'll trade speed for weight any day, especially when it's just a few ounces. Get a membership to the gym and build up those scrawny arm muscles. :wowzer:

And the Halo is smaller than a Revvy. Plus it's smooth shape is less prone to get hopper hits.

I ordered a Halo about 2 weeks ago from odyssey, would my Halo come with the new and improved bard for less chopping on the ir3?
Thanks.

Yes, any new Halo ordered from Odyssey should have the new software. There is a way to tell if you have the new software or not. When the hopper is empty and you turn it on the motor should spin continuously if you have the NEW software. If you have the OLD software it will run for few seconds then stop, then run for a few seconds and stop, and on and on.
