I just bought my first new angel, a G7 Fly, and i was wondering how much fine tuning is needed out of the box for it to work well. what is the LPR set at out of the box? and what is the break in period before i should adjust the dwell and such? or better yet, what are the right steps to set this thing up right?
thank

Hey man..good choice on the gun..I have a RASTA one
This is ALL YOU NEED TO DO TO RIP THIS GUN
Turn MROF to 30
Adjust your trigger to your liking.
Slap a HALO on it.
Some people say LP air tanks only but that is lies and hype(depends on your in-line reg).. I use HP works fine and no shoot down
Don't touch dwell or any other settings...
If you don't have fast fingers you can turn the TR setting up a few digits and it will start bouncing when you shoot faster.
LPR i think is 65 stock
Mine has over 20 k shots on it now and i use it every weekend...never touched a single setting expect for the ones i showed you...no "break in' period...get ram service after 40 k shots
THATS ALL ...enjoy

make sure you check the ram is properly greased. i got my gun less than a month ago and i guess the ram wasnt greased correctly so i went to play saturday and the thing was leakin air like a freakin madman

Hmmm... LP & HP tanks are both ok to use in Angels depending on your in-line regulator? What is more recommended?

That is just HIS recommendation...in reality it doesnt matter lp OR hp
the only time you would ever HAVE TO use LP is if you have an in-line regulator that won't hold back the pressure well enough and still not give you shoot down...
Example: on my old rasta A4 FlY...this gun still had the mini-reg design and was designed for low pressure. When i 1st got the gun a screwed a HP tank on it and even if you would turn the regulator all the way to the OFF position it would still let 250 psi pass through...this caused it to shoot 330 fps and it could not go ANY lower.
So in this instance LP is REQUIRED....but this problem was fixed in 05 on the 05 SPEED with the new regs
HP tanks work FINE

No wonder the fps in my Angel 4 Fly wouldn't go down lower 304 fps, that's why i couldn't use it in tourneys.. Will test it out using an LP tank and see the difference. I hope it works out fine. Thanks for the help and info BAKERmancan.

Read the WDP manual and it clearly states the A4 Fly, Speed05, Speed06, G7 and G7 fly run LP NOT HP.
You should be using an input presser of around 450psi not 800+psi.
No this is not hype read your book………….. Some work most don’t, you cannot dial your marker below 300fps even with the screw all the way in.
Plus the settings you mention are not tournament legal and most probably not walk-on day legal either.
If still unsure ask a Angel-Tec.

yes the internals of the GUN are LP i never said they were NOT LP...indeed they ARE..
i said using a HP air source was OK...which indeed it is...as long as your in-line reg can regulate it down enough to the desired LP and not shoot down

Yup. I read the manual from cover to cover Shades. That's why i was asking if it's ok to use HP tanks to Angels. As long as the provisions are met, HP tanks are ok. But of course, LP tanks are highly recommended.
That's why I'm not using my A4 Fly anywhere because it's shooting hot. I tried using the HP tank using a Conquest dual reg with output pressure set at 420, re-adjusted the velocity through to reg and VOALA! It shoots at a velocity of 290... 293... 289... 290... 292... 295fps. Both my Angels are rockin' man. Thanks a lot for the help guys.
