OK I have read everything I can find about the Newton Lite. I recently put this valve into my A4 Force Fly with Tadao board, JDS LPR and Evolve ram.
I have gotten 3-4 different methods explained to me how to set this marker up.
Peegee sent me this:
Hi,
Ok we have a new way of setting these things up for better performance and bedding in.
First set your lpr no lower than 50 psi (60-70 will be good starting point for set-up)
dwell i would set around 9 as a starting point (solenoids trip over at different dwells it is unique to each one)
set your mini reg to 250
then adjust the Newton screw till you get constant chrono results.
once you set it consistent you can adjust your mini reg to get velocity and play around with your dwell and lpr a little.

I tried this method thinking it was the latest and greatest...but I am having blowback out the feedneck. Why is this? I have never had this before. My settings are BANG on what I was told but still i am having blowback that pops balls out the feed neck..serious blowback.
Someone give me some advice on this.
I have already read Trigga's posts and they don't seem to address my problem...uless i missed something.
HELP
Thanks

you need to adjust the newton valve itself. in the front of the newton valve cap you will find an (allen) adjustment screw. also on the side of the cap, near the tip, you will find a very tiny set screw.that set screw needs to be loose to make any adjustments. once all of your adjustments have been made you can lock the valve in place with that set screw. since you have done the blow back test you know what needs to be done, so repeat those steps and at the same time adjust the valve until all of the blow back is gone!!

Blowback test??? I don't even know what a "blowback test" is. I have never heard or read about it. Please clarify.
Trust me I have been fine tuning the Newton with the allen screw at its front.
So I am to keep adjusting the Newton until the blowback is gone? But what if that is NOT where I am getting the best consistency? My cosnsitency is an issue when I have no blowback.

This is a guess but could it be that the consistencey may not be better than it could because the Evolve spring in the valve may not be broken in yet?
The blow back test is just putting two or three balls in the feedneck and firing the gun. The balls should not blow out of the feedneck. If they do, then there is too much blow back or in theory, there is too much wasted air.
I have noticed that Evolve is no longer saying to remove all the blowback. In fact it sounds like they do no longer even talk about removing the blowback.

So Trigga....how do I get rid of the blowback?
Just keep increasing the Newton valve pressure?
Will the blowback have any affect of the feeding with a force fed hopper? I run HaloV35 and a Reloader B.
So Trigga...how do you set the markers up. Do you use Pee gee's method or did you find your method worked fine? It seems that their is sooo much tuning info that none of it is really conclusive.

Yea i need to know how to get rid of blowback. I just put 3 balls in gun and shota nd the top ball went in air like 6-7 inches.

I can't even get any more response from Evolve on this issue.. I guess I will just put my old MT valve back in...unless someone can give me more input.

The valve is staying open too long. Try reducing dwell or increasing the spring pressure on the newton valve.

The valve is staying open too long. Try reducing dwell or increasing the spring pressure on the newton valve. That is it exactly. I used the low dwell setting that they recommend which was one higher than the lowest. And then I would load the feedneck with three balls and fire away until the blow back was reduced. It is tricky because if you reduce it too much, you'll loose your velocity. There is a real fine line. Tuning the Evolve it difficult but it rocks like no other when you get it tuned properly.

My dwell is at 2 lights already. The newton valve screw is almost fluch with the body. (the grub screw isnt locked down, that the problem?)

My Valve adjustment screw is much further in. When it is flush their is not enough spring pressure to close the vlave.
I would turn your adjustment in further.

So keep turing in until no blowback then raise mini reg if i need to to compenstae for fps?

Guys i had sked BoB and he said to put a piece of tissue on feedneck(thast he said he tested for blowback) and it didnt move so im guessing i got no blowback. He also stated the balls could have flown up a bit from the bolt moving forward.(since mine was on acouple inches compared to acouple of feet, it was the bolt that was pushing the balls up) so im in pretty good shape it seems. when i get to my field today or tomorow(w8ting for my paint) i just gotta get my fps for 250(indoor) and ill be set.
Thanks guys:doc: :boink:

W00T went to field yesterday and my gun was rockin :boink:
I was rockin the snake and 50 :bouncer: I love how the gun is shooting now.
