Yeah, I did.

It's mainly discussing the possibilities of where paintball technology may evolve to, such as having BlueTooth capabilities--it's pros and cons. They suggest that it can help referees and judges to monitor the cycle rates, dwell, output pressure, etc of the guns, as well as control them to prevent playing on, overshooting, player tampering, etc. But this technology may also lead to new forms of cheating as well. It can provide information to coaches such as how active was a players gun and how well did the gun perform in the players' hands, etc.

It's an interesting article, read it.

Surprizingly the thread (in pbnation) on this update has been closed as fast as it came up. I'm SUPER excited for this technology. To be able to TELL my marker to switch modes on my board ROCKS! Maybe even get readings on my phone or laptop. ALL it needs now is a built in chrono.

Actually the coolest mod of all would be getting your marker to talk i.e. soundbites like napoleon dynamite sayings thru hidden usb port. Useless ...yes. Entertaining... definitley.

I also forgot to add that the article mentioned that TAG Sportz " . . . is on the verge of releasing their Ghost series of boards. This latest development sees the full range boards being Bluetooth enabled. OMG YES!.... program custom voice signatures like that!
I think another cool thing would be to put a chip in your marker that's makes your gun an mp3 player. ...What? down time at a tournament? forgot your mp3 player or don't have one like me because your afraid of breaking your new expensive toy? Plug your ear phones into your marker, turn it on and bam! Music.. scroll songs with trigger pulls.

I bought the magazine not too long ago and read the article. It was very well written and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something interesting. It basically states the possibilities of BlueTooth in paintball.

it also said TAG was working on a bluetooth board (called GHOST).

Can't wait to see how that turns out.

lots of possibilities. Markers could be given IP addresses and you could monitor performance from your desktop. Or maybe MT's could service/diagnose your maker remotely. Even push software updates over the internet.

not really,jdemon... Theres always factory restore settings built into every board... just gotta make sure you hit that when you sell it lol... or else NEW BOARD HERE WE COME O_O

I just read the article...and WOW that would be insane....the big question for me is about the ghost board...when is it gonna be out and one other thing is that on cell phones the transmitter is hidden unlike on the "pics" in the article it was showing it out in the open, if that is the case what r the chances of it getting damaged or who would really want to have that ugly transmitter out in the open and on top like the G7 pic was...I know I dont :D

I just hope they can do updates over the net cauze like me (just been to cup '04) and many others out there who really dont go to events NPPL or PSP its gonna be freakin hard to get updated other than sending it to a MT even then I dont really trust the postal system to handle that stuff well it would be a great idea for that
