The new Angel One ways 100 grams acording to the specs thread, a american Penny is 2.5 grams. 100/2.5=40. Put 40 pennys in a bag and you can get a feel for how light this gun is.

No, we are hearing that it weighs 100 grams less than the Ego. The 100 grams is not the total weight of the One.

100 grams = 50 paintballs. I think that's what Ken had said the other night.

I would snap it in half during a game it if did. I need a gun that can handle aggressive play. Lighter is nice, but what is the point when most of the weight is in the tank and hopper full of paint?

I think that is probably the point, to have most of the weight in the hopper and tank. Distributing the weight to assist in balance becomes a bigger factor. My Angel is the easiest, and one of the very few, markers where I can do what I like to call "The Hook." (It's a Pyrate thing, lol) The balance is so good that I can actually shoot one handed, fairly fast, while walking the trigger. That allows a lot of paint to be put on a target, while the other hand is free to reload. Being able to keep an unbroken stream of paint on target can make a big difference when trying to dominate a target or lane.
As for durability, I have literally fallen full force, barrel first and the only damage besides a scratch was the dovetail on the rail. The marker held up and I kept shooting. ...Once I got off my face, that is. lol

if you use a remote coil than you would want the hopper in the middle of the gun for sure.

With a Hopper, you can lighten it up by changing configurations with the batteries(2-9v or 1-9.6v). With the tank, you can change sizes(45/68/88/91). But with the marker, you are left with what you are given. Sure you can change parts of the marker to lighten it up, but it is not a significant factor(8oz or more). With any new innovation, it is a step towards improvement and without that, they would be left behind. Look at AGD.
It would be interesting to see this puppy with a Qloader mounted above the tank. Sure only a front player could carry enough paint to make it worthwhile , but that would be lighter still, with one tiny profile to try and shoot at!

The reason people are so into having a light gun is, it seems at this point, most new guns that come out are lighter than their predessesor. There's little you can do to lighten your hopper (other than maybe 10-15 grams by changing batteries) or your tank (once you pick a tank that meets your play needs, you cannot lighten it). However, there seems to always be a way to make your gun lighter. I am somewhat into mountain biking. I was reading an article about how to lighten your bike. It's suggestions were things like removing the valve caps and the decals and some other things. After all the suggestions they made, they removed something like 5 ozs on a 30 lb bike. It's the same thing in paintball. When you reach the high end, every gram you can take off your equipment is going to make you think something beneficial has happened...

True, It used to be speed was the only way to set your product apart and everyone wanted the "fastest" marker. Now with the new rules speed is no longer an issue so it is all about weight. To tell you the truth I would be more interested in seeing advancements in efficiency than weight. I care very little about weight but being able to shoot a case on a fill would be very impressive. I have not heard any projected efficiency numbers on this new marker so I'm assuming they did not make any progress. Hopefully Im wrong.

100 grams is a little less that 4 ounces. This is NOT be the total weight of the gun.
The Angel 1 is 100 grams lighter than the Ego...so it is about 3.524 ounces lighter than an Ego...and that folks is very light.

i could never see using a remote coil... that would make the gun way to top heavy.. it would probably end up feeling heavier to play with than a gun that had a tank

I couldn't use a remote coil because I put the tank up against my shoulder to help aim and it also seems (to me) to lighten the load of the gun.

with remotes, you cant get into any of the fun contorted positions u need in airball, and you TOTALY loose guncontrool, that tank on ur arm or in your sholder is whare you get your stability from. if you want to use a remote, go buy a tippmann a-5 and put a stock on it, but if how you play requires an angel, dont disgrace it with a remote
