Im Back... Can Someone Fill Me In.

Aiight, I am back into paintball. I was out of it for about a year and when I came back, I find that there is all new Angel stuff...

Can someone fill me in on everything from the 04 Speeds to now?

If I were to get myself another Angel, (I have a Smart Parts Shocker at this time) what would you recommend?

I used to have a '99 LED, 2 Dark IR3's and an 04 Speed which I wasnt too impressed with. I loved the IR3s so that 90 degree frame is going to be a must. I am glad to see they have 45 degree frame options as well...

So what I dug up was the following:
05 Speed
06 Speed
Gat (Angelforce modded Speed 06)
A4
G7

I am actually leaning towards the 05 or 06 Speed and hoping that they fixed some of those 04 problems. It sounds like they did with different eyes and such...
Anyways, based upon what I used to have what would you recommend?
Any help would be appreciated. I am not going to get this new marker that is supposed to be unveiled at Tampa so that is out of the question. I know prices dropped and will drop some more so I want to pick up an angel at a decent price. Any places you all know of that have cheap Angels? pbgear.com has limited selections of speeds but a lot of g7 flys which I am feeling.

An 05 Speed or newer will be an amazing improvement over your 04 Speed. I would wait another month for ther new Angel to hit the market and then you will be able to find some really great deals on some really great 05 and 06 Speeds.

yeah that is what I am banking on...
I got back into the game, picked up a couple DVDs cheap off ebay... One was the NPPL Vegas 04 DVD... That is the one where Rocky gives a quick rundown of some key bunkers and he was using an 05 speed... That thing was quiet, accurate, throwing paint and looked cool as hell...

it was then that I realized why I love angels.

That new one wont be in my arsenal but 05 speeds are quite cheap now. I see some for sub $700 and that isnt counting used on ebay.

So the 06 Speed is just a newer 05? no new concepts?
How is the G7 Fly to the Speeds?

06 are newer 05's, i believe it's got some newer internals, like 2 ounces lighter... but not much difference... you may want to look into the A4 Fly's as well.. they are similer to the 05 speeds, eyes, light milling, etc. the G7 is much much newer, lighter milling, new internals, extra air space internally, lazer eyes etc. Check pbreview for details.

I would also suggest to wait till the unveilment of the newest angel... that'll be the hottest rave and the others will start to drop in price.

the 06 speed as G7 internals, not the same as the 05. The 06 shares the same board as the 05 but the rest is a new platform. Get an 06. Or get a GAT. They are cheaper than 06s some places and have Uni2, UL barrel, and clamping feedneck.

Actually break out the scale and you will find the G7 is actually heavier than the A4 Fly. Newer is NOT always better or lighter.

dont buy anything wdp yet, because tomorrow WDP will release pics of the NEWEST angel, the Angel One and i would definitely invest in that rather than any other angel. please do this, for me...

Also, with the release of the New Angel, everthing is going to drop in price so if you can not afford the New Angel, look at the slightly older models as an alternative. Good luck in you investment and keep us posted. V-M

okay after the 04 speed came the A4, which was an IR3 on the 04 speed plateform (workings) but had a new board, with Sensi's (like the cops system of the IR3's. Then came the A4 Fly, basically the same thing, with break beam eyes instead of sensi's. Next came the 05 speed, Wdp was trying a newer operating system, with a speed board and break beam eyes. Then came the G7. Its got lower operating pressure, lazer Break beam eyes, new roto breech design that works with your ram, and is pretty light. The G7 Fly is really the same gun, but even lighter, and has new milling, plus they changed the trigger adjustment a little bit. It also has a whole new barrel thread, as will any other angel afterwards. The GAT is basically a 06 speed with a Tadao board (its aftermarket and just plainly KILLS people) plus a few other nice upgrades, like Unimount, clapping feed, and a DYE ultralite barrel. the plain 06 speed is really just like the G7 fly with a 05 speed board in it, and an easier opening roto breech then the G7 had.
As for which gun to get, I recommend the G7 or G7 Fly, with a 90 degree frame, since that one is closes to a IR3 then any of the other ones. It has the plain LCD board in it, which you could later maybe upgrade to a Tadao board if you want. The thing about the G7 fly is, if you have alot of Angel barrels, you may not want to get this one, and just get the plain G7 since they changed the barrel threads. Unless you want to buy a new barrel kit too.

Price drops on a new gun is fine with me. I am looking at maybe the 05 speed off ebay or something if the price is right. Until then, I will jsut save up my cash and wait...
