I'm the proud owner of an Angel Speed 04, I've bought about a year ago but it seems to be performing less than in the beginning. Ball breakage in the barrel, less velocity and less accuracy.. As you Angellovers will understand I'm worried about my baby! I would love to sent my gun to a Master Tech but we haven't got any in the Netherlands..
My Angel i a stock Speed 04 with LP Armageddon Air (can change the ingoing pressure) and a Evil volumizer. That's all.. I've bought all the parts (O-rings, screws, Angel toolkit, Love grease and Love oil) but now I have to know when and how to use them...
A pic over here (http://obc.sanderpolman.nl/speed4.jpg)
Would you experts give me advise or a link to the right post on this forum about the following:
- What are the right low pressure settings for my Speed? Considering the Evil volumizer and the Armageddon..
-I've got the Angel tools but have no idea what the gauge in my LPR should say and why.. :puzzled: Can you also explain the working of the airflows in my Angel so I can learn to understand?
- what are the ideal board-settings and what do they do (dwell, s-level, sensi)?
- Beside the drop of oil in the mini-reg and greasing my ram ;) once in a while, I would like to know what to lubricate more and why?
- Do I need to know anything else to get my gun performing its best?
You can PM, email (mailto:piekedasse@hotmail.com) me or reply to this post. Thanks very much for the effort anyway!!!

Probably just need to service it. Is really not that hard or difficult. Just take it all apart and clean everything!!!!
Questions 1- The Speed work great with the LP. The book recommends anywhere from 400-450 going INTO the gun. The mini-reg then reduces it down lower and then the LPR even lower!
#2- The normal LPR was 82 stock. If you are running a volumizer, then (depending on size) anywhere from 55 to 65.
#3- With the LPR being lowered, I would out the dwell anywhere from 15 to 17. Should have been 11 stock. I ran with the #2 sensi setting and liked it.
#4- Just keep in cleaned and fully charged. I always charge it before every day of play.
#5- Do you have a manual, if not go here and select SPEED....http://www.wdp.tv/manuals/?fly/01.html
Good luck and let us know!

Thanks Firemedic! That's some quick and good advise! So using a volumizer should drop the pressure coming out of the LPR? Or do I need to drop it myself lowering the number of shims in the LPR? And this dwell, what does it do? Has it got something to do with the time the valve is open? I think I've serviced the gun anyway, I've greased the ram, cleaned and oiled all other internal parts. I've even replaced the ball-detents and cleaned the sensi-hole. The volumizer is not that big so I think I'll go for a 65 pressure from my LPR, I will try both 15 and 17 dwell and 2 sensi.
Thanks!

If you have problems with your angel you can always contact Wim from www.paintball-direct.nl he knows his way around Angels

Right , you will need to "drop" the LPR pressure by the removal of the shims. I am sure this will not be exactly word for word, but the dwell is the time that the solinod tells the valve to stay open. So, as you said, it is about the valve and how long it stays open. According to the usage and timing, at the lower lower it is slighty better on air consumption, quiter, but LESS tolerant on brittle. At the higher ends, you see more air consumption, slightly louder, BUT, more tolerant on older, brittle, or low end paint.
I looked my Fly up and was running a dwell of 11-14 with a lpr of 65.
Have fun and if you need anything else, post or PM me!!

Firemedic, help!! I've serviced the gun like we discussed. After reassembly I aired her up, everything seemed fine; no leaking. Then, after one shot she started leaking bad!! Something that happens in that first shot makes her leak.. I've took the triggerframe of and aired her up again, it seems the air is coming from the sensi-hole. I've took it all apart again and checked:
- the LPR-assembly, O-rings all seem fine
- Mini-reg adapter, kindney-shaped O-ring and little round O-ring seem fine
- ram, O-rings seem fine
What is leaking when air is coming from the sensi hole and how come it starts leaking after the first shot and not when air comes in? :notsure:
Hope you can help!! Sander

UUHHMMMMM.......when you say the sensi hole....do you mean from inside the gun?? That hole??
Let's start there and work on it!!

That was where it was leaking from, probably because I didn't tighten the gripframe enough.. So when I gassed it up it didn't leak from there anymore, saw myself hopping around like a young deer on the field this weekend.. :bouncer: Then I fired the first shot and I think I know what happens now.. When I fire the first shot the ram (or ramstroke I believe) moves the bolt forward and should come back in the original position but this doesn't happen!! Then starts the leaking, I believe from the hole where the ram is, under the original place of the bolt. The bolt is as far in the front as it can be and I need to push it back by hand place it in the position to open the shaft. What to do??!! :boobies:

Do you have the Angel Tool kit????
Could be several things, could be that an oring is out of place? Could be that when you cleaned it, the fact that it is clean has the pressures all out of whack? Maybe a new 14 way?
Try to get me some numbers and make sure the orings are OK on that ram. You are right, the ram should come back.

Hey Firemedic,
Took a while, sorry for that. I had to drill out the two backplatescrews.. Damaged the bolts, think I used the wrong size hex key. But I found the leak, think it was a damaged seal between the 14-way and the frame. After replacing and greasing the seals the leak was gone! So thanks for the tip about the 14-way.
Numbers (I've got an Angel toolkit):
Input pressure from bottle: 450psi
Pressure on the LPR (with the volumizer as in the pic): about 67psi
Dwell: 12
Sensi: mode 3
MROF: 22 (max)
Hope to hear from you, thanks so far!
