I kind of flipped out in my response, but the kid deserved it nonetheless. This is a post off of the Paintball Group on myspace, i dunno if any of you belong to it and saw this

I know speedball as popular if not more popular than good old fashion paintball in the woods - but want to make a point that speedball is not the same game as paintball played in the woods. other than the obvious differences - speedball is a game that can be decided by who has the better guns - the guns that shoot faster and further will usually outbeat the team with a better stratagy.
I would NEVER enter a speedball tourny with my tippmann 98, it's just no competition for you guys shooting shockers or angels... id be shot 30 times before i shot one of you guys. But on the other hand, your gun isnt going to make a difference in the woods if you cant stratagize.
Thats why when I play pickup games on the weekends and I see these younger kids playing with ions and shockers - I cant help but laugh. Just because you have a super fast gun, doesnt make you a better player, it just means your going to waste paint and air faster than me!!!

well i just found the post and didnt get my chance to be pissed off.

Id like to start by saying §§§§ YOU! i dont sit around making posts on pbnation and §§§§ saying "woodsball sucks because I obviously know nothing about it and dcided to post a non-fact based §§§§ head post!"

Your right, speedball and woods are two different games.
Ill start by playing your game and flameing a little: Speedball is for the real men, woodsball is for §§§§§s

The guys I play with have plenty of strat and could smoke you weither it was xball, speedball, or some giant ass fort or w.e the hell you play in. All the woods players i know get all psyched cuz they're all in camo and think they can sit on top a hill and "snipe" people out. Well let me tell you something its the woodsball players that give it a bad name because you make the public think that paintball is about getting all military like and pretending to shoot people.

Speedball does actually require skill you §§§§in idiot, and its not about who has the best gun. Ive played with a tippy in plenty of tournys and still owned people. If you cant play a tourny with a tippy that just means you suck. If you have to hide 100000 feet away to pop off a blind fire at some camo pimped kid then you are just a §§§§§! I love playing speedball and haveing the ref say no bunkering because some wimpy little rec player is afraid of getting a real shot to the chest. I would take you with a tippman or my angel i doesnt matter.

Dont you ever dare tell me that Im inferior to you because of your "mighty manly woodsball skills" Dont you dare start a post with "blank" sucks because if you were a real paintball player you would be happy with all the different games and wouldnt flame any of them. I reserved the right to flame woodsball in this post because you initated it with your original post. Next time you wanna start bashing people why dont you try not being a §§§§§ and playing a real game first, at least then you could say you tried and just sucked. You know what wins speedball? People with no fear who push the other team and get right in their faces! you know what wins woodsball? NOTHING cuz all you do is grab a damn flag.

It doesn't matter who he is, what you did crossed a line! You want to validate what you wrote by saying that it pissed you off. Big deal, this is a debate that's been going back and forth since paintball came out of the woods. You going clepto on a guy because he offered his view of how two formats of our sport differ isn't going to accomplish anything except make anybody who reads it think that those of us who play speedball are a bunch of dicks.

Where we are now requires sportsmanship and an attitude that presents our sport as something that belongs as a mainstream alternative sport. If you want to get all hyped up, filled with adrenaline, and seek a rush...then do it on the field. When you're not on the field, present yourself in the right manner whenever the subject of the sport we dedicate so much blood, sweat, and tears comes up. Going irate and jumping all over someone who offers a different view is not going to do anything but degrade the already struggling reputation that paintball has as a sport that requires dedication, confidence, strategy, speed, skill, practice, and sacrifice.

Keep that in mind the next time someone offers a different view. It's okay to disagree, but don't do what you did. It's not going to help anybody!

Both speed and woods are aspects of the same game, both are fun and equally challenging if set up right.

Strategies are what wins both games, it doesnt really matter.

The difference is that speedball requires.. well duh Speed, where as woods often favours stealth.

Just because someone is ignorant to your side, doesnt mean its ok to flip the coin and be just as ignorant to their side.

Sure we all lose our cool from time to time, but when posting something like those things, try to step back for just 5 mins and relax then think about it, maybe instead of going ape§§§§ on the dude, try to argue with valid points and make your point come across, cos really, who reads a whole post and cares about it, when its all the exact opposite of their view, and said in a offensive way ?
