My apologies for the double post. I wanted to post here as well since the IMG tags are on. Pictures always help...

Ok, I think I figured this multi-tool vs. normal tool deal out. The Master Tech's can correct me if I'm wrong but here goes...

From what I gather there are TWO different types of multi-tools. Both are designed to stay on your gun.

The first one is designed to perform maintenance on your ram. Here's how it looks like disassembled:

As you can see... it has the tool that has the two rods for removing the ram.

The second is designed to perform maintenance on your LPR. Here's how it looks like disassembled:

As you can see... it has the threaded tool to remove the forward part of the LPR as well as a gauge to test your LPR pressure (conveniently has the 6 bar highlighted in large font to tell you where you should be at). Also has a magnet to remove springs/shims. This is the one I just bought and luckily was the one I needed.

Now... the final tool set is the full kit that comes with the large gauge and all. It looks like this:

This kit has the the three main tools you need. It has the LPR gauge, the ram extracting tool, and the LPR removal tool.

So, in answering my own question....

There are three tool kits available. The first one mentioned is for managing your ram only. The next is for managing your LPR only. And the next (more expensive yet more complete) will allow you to manage both ram and LPR. Which is a better value? It really depends. My main concern was to adjust the LPR. I bought the kit for pretty cheap. However, if I ever wanted to manage my ram I'd have to either buy the ram multi-tool kit OR buy the complete tool kit.

I hope this helps anyone who has/had the same confusion I have had with the WDP tool kits. I'm just glad I got the right tool kit and wasn't disapointed by receiving the ram tool kit.

I don't know if this is worth sticky'ing or not... I'll leave it to the admins. I just found it hard to get a definitive answer on what each tool did and how many were available.

That's it... lates!
