That's just because they don't know how good real reballs are to play with. The balls shouldn't need lubing, that will affect accuracy and lower the lifetime of the balls and even in the early stages of reball development this solution was considered just not good enough to market. I tried some of the early all-rubber reball prototypes, and several all-silicone variants and without the reball coating they just don't work right. Poor feed or poor accuracy if you choose to lube them, just take your pick.
Anyone can make a simple rubber ball large enough to fire in a paintball marker, but to make it work like real paint you need research and technical refinement. These Rusballs are just a cheap, short lifetime, low performance imitation. The big problem here is that the guy selling them intentionally choose a name to sound like Reballs to sell off their good name, at least in the beginning, and a lot of people who've bought them thought they got the real thing.

not only that but to use the same color was a bit shady. the lacquer coating fails almost as soon as you start to use them. also jerseyballer. not only are joy sponsored by them but as well they own reball.were not chosing sides based on who they are. we are basing on nothing other than performance.

I've used neither so I have no opinion....just playing devil's advocate here. Jerseyballer is just pointing out that reviews from someone that have a stake in it can be biased.

hello everyone,
there is a some things to be clarify here about the post from g7 matrix about the reball ownership.
Reball is a common project and enterprise between Magued and Alvaro at 50% each. Joy Division is the flagship team of Reball. Magued is the owner/manager of the team.
we are both working together on this product and on sales. we both own the product and we both are creators of this phenomenon that has revolutionize the european market in 2005 and will also change the way paintball is practice and play in USA.
Reball is sold exclusively to reball centers and dealers through 2 sales offices one in Chicago and one in California.
Updates will be soon online at www.reball.us with sales locations and news concerning our products (reball, snap box and more)
if you live in chicago area, come and play in our reball center in Elmhurst.

from what i've heard, these work just fine as long as you break a paintball on every 500 of them or so. they way joy division, reball, and now ken crane are so obviously trying to slander "scamballs" is really funny. even funnier is all the feedback for the guys selling them that say that they work fine with a little paint to lube them.

good point brokenleg,
lets all break one paintball in our loader as they say. I am sure all paintball players love to break one paintball in the loader to oil ruballs.
we all know what happen when we break one paintball in the barrel or in the loader.
Great Idea
i 'm loving it !!!

you are the moonmaster!
one paintball per 500. you must have one big hopper. and they broke it in a bucket, not in the hopper, so i'm thinking the degree of clean-up would be pretty inconsequential as the ammount of surface area 500 balls provides would leave it spread quite thin. looks like the scamballs in that vid are flying pretty straight to me...

No they don't.
Look at the vid again and compare it to real paintballs. When shooting at a 10-meter distant bunker I can hit ball-on-ball easy, and this had a pretty large spread.
Reballs shoot a lot closer in acuracy than that to real paint. Compare the Joy vid With max shooting reballs at the end at the far off netting, same spread or less at 50+ meters as the other balls had at 10.
You'd be strained to hit someone from back-to back if they show a foot or elbow wth reballs, but the way the other balls spread you'd be hard pressed to hit something like that sticking out from that 10 meter away bunker. Think about what that does to the effects of long term practice.

I thought reballs were safer than normal paintballs?
Haha funny stuff!
Fargbollen
05-29-2006, 10:42 PM
They are safer if used at the advised 250 fps, not 300. Reballs don't break on impact so they can be nastier at full 300 fps than normal paintballs which lose a lot of their impact force through the act of the ball shattering. Of course the same is true for stone-hard shelled paint. As most paintballers know, a bounce from a really hard paintball usually hurts more than a marking hit from the same paint.

i'm not going to make judgements about accuracy from those low quality vids.
have you shot both? probably not. i'm willing to keep an open mind until i have.
edit: i just noticed you're a swede. probably a little biased then, yeah?

i'm not going to make judgements about accuracy from those low quality vids.
In what way were they low quality vids, because they sure look as crisp and clear as can be to me. The balls could clearly be seen flying through the air in both vids. It could easily be seen that Ruballs (or whatever they later changed the name to) had lesser accuracy when hitting a 10 meter distant bunker compared to shooting a string of reballs at many times that distance.
Moreover, this is an effect that any paintball player would easly guess at since one ball is dry and the other is greasy like when you have a break or partial break in the barrel. It's common paintball knowlege that a greasy ball will have impaired accuracy. Do you play paintball? Have you ever shot after a break? If you do, you KNOW this is how it works, so why the act about videos being too low quality?
Like Magued said earlier, the performance of those balls they had within a week of prototype testing for reball, and they decided it didn't cut it as a complete product you could sell and distribute as a long term solution. What part of this don't you understand? Please tell me and I will clarify it for you so that you do.
have you shot both? probably not. i'm willing to keep an open mind until i have.
Yes I have, whereas you clearly have not. Try it and find out the truth if you feel the videos haven't shown it already.
Open mind you say? And then you say this...
edit: i just noticed you're a swede. probably a little biased then, yeah?
Are you implying that Swedes are more biased as a people or something?
Well, if by biased you really mean the ability to recognize obvious quality differences between two similar products, then yes, I'd be proud to be called a biased Swede. But that's not really what the word means in english, as I am quite aware.
Do you have a problem with Swedes?
