it baffles me how a marker such as this can come with such a frail wire... doesnt really seem to make sense.

anyway, the eye doesnt work unless i wiggle the wire around so obviously somethings wrong... anyone know of any quick fixes i can try other than replace the wire? $50 is a lot of money for a little piece of flex cable with a lightbulb on it.

:notsure:

8 replies to a thread about the Oiling Reminder and not being able to find anything in the manual about oiling the gun... but no replies to a legit question.

Sorry, we type slowly.
I don't know the manufacturing costs and such, so I'll stay away from the price portion.
The wire is thin, but it does allow a very small profile eye cover on the body.
If you feel confident with a solder gun, you can try to patch any cracks you see, but it's a bit tricky with a thin wire like this.
If the connection is loose at the connector, try completely reseat ing it, see if you can get it in there firmly.

im not sure how you broke it exactly. The eye wires are pretty fragile but you have to be pretty forceful to tear it. A lot of people i know tear them because tehy forget to disconnect the eye/hopper/battery/etc before removing the frame and end up ripping everything up, although i do not recommend removing the freame unless you have to because you more than likely will have to redo all of your trigger settings.

I apologize for sounding rude, I have been growing increasingly frustrated with this marker... its very ridiculous to have to tear the entire thing apart to service the ram, and LPR. It seems like its begging for you to break other stuff when you work on it, none the less the amount of time it takes to service it.

The eyes im saying are a lost cause and I'll just replace them.

I was up until about 4 am last night figuring out how to clean and relube the LPR and mini-reg... and now its leaking. This is after a part blatantly fell out of my macro fitting which... was supposed to be in the reg.

It is annoying to take apart the whole thing but whenever I get a new marker I try to learn how to take it apart and re-assemble it, then practice till it down to an art. That way if you have any issues on the field or at home you can get the problem easily without causing more.

and im confused a bit on what you said. so you had the macro fitting off the inline reg? if your talking about that do you mean you had the actual fitting off or that you had unscrewed the whole thing (the fitting and the end cap). I had some issues with my macro on my mini drop but it was easily solved with some red loctite.

This is the PM I sent a MT...

********

I'm playing in the GPL this weekend, so last night I figured it'd be best to go through my marker and clean everything up so it was shooting its best. I regreased the ram with no major problems (other than breaking the eye wire, but I have a spare).

When I got to the minireg, I was following the instructions of the manual. I took out the velo adjustment screw, the grub screw holding whatever it is it holds in, and the body mounting screw. I detached the macro line and didn't really know where to go from there. I knew the cap with the macro fitting had to come off, so I thought that it just needed to be shocked out... I hit it a few times against my palm, and a ball bearing fell on my lap.

I picked it up and put it on my desk because I didnt know where exactly it went. I finally figured out how to get the guts of the mini-reg out, then realized the ball bearing was supposed to go inside the hour-glass looking component. What makes NO sense to me, is how the hell it got out. The c-clip was in place, and there was seemingly no way for it to exit that component. Now, the marker had been working alright (about every 10 shots one ball wouldn't go that far so thats why I was cleaning the regs) however it was rather inconsistent at the chrono. This is the first time I have disassembled the mini-reg, so prior incorrect installation of the ball bearing on my part is out.

As far as the leak goes, whenever gassed up the bolt moves forward a little bit and just.. leaks. My guess is valve, but I didnt do anything to it so I dont know why it would be.

Setup is: G7 Fly

If you could shed some light on any of this, it would be terrific. Thanks!

its possible that your ram is forward a little and moveing your bolt with it

I had the same thing happen to me when I took aprt my mini-reg. It turns out it fell out the hole where the velocity adjustment screw is. The bearing sits above that screw and once you remove that screw the ball can fall out.
