View Full Version : First shot slop?
I read that earlier Speeds had an issue with the first 1-3 shots falling out of the barrel (basically). In essence, the 9V battery did not provide enough juice to deliver the gas and the velocity was extremely low.
Most shrugged it off and just said, waste some shots into the grass before starting. But that's a hack solution at best. How long before it slows down again?
Does the 06 speed and the gat have this problem? I really think I want the gat over the g7 fly since I'll be putting in a tadao anyhow, but the battery system may make me rethink my choice.
Thanks!

The first speeds ran off a battery pack. The FSDO thing came around when people didnt have their batteries charged up, or they didnt have their LPR tuned right. They also switched the voltages on the solinoid to help prevent any issues as they started using 4.3V battery packs.
Same thing with the 9v batterys in the 05, 06 and gat, if you are having any troubles chances are your battery needs replacing.

On top of the above info, if you put a tadao board in there, you will be running a completely different power supply into the solenoid anyways.

My 05 speed has had no such problems

Would you please elaborate? The reason I want a Gat/Speed is to do a Tadao... otherwise, it's a G7 Fly, then I'd behesitant about ditching the LCD.
Thanks!

The only component besides the board that uses electricity and affects the pneumatic cycling of the gun is the solenoid. It plugs straight into the board. The 9V battery is the power source, it feeds the circuitry on the board. When you pull the trigger, the board activates the firing cycle, supplying power to the solenoid for the programmed amount of time(dwell).
Changing boards removes everything between the battery and the solenoid.
:)
Sorry, I should have been more clear, I was asking to elaborate, on what happens if you put in the Tadao board... what changes? Does it output different pulse/voltage to the solenoid? If so, doesn't that damage the solenoid?
Thanks in advance for clarifying - I do know how they work, but I really am curious about the specific electrical change the tadao makes that may impact this.
thanks again!
