That is way too extreme, I sure hope other states don't go that route.

Maybe AOG needs a 'legal' arm whereby it can keep users aware of legislation that affects them and petitition when support is large to influence laws affecting paintball.
Just a thought.
That said,
Does the safety course idea have merit? Sure. But I'm also sure a lot of paintball fields are wondering what will be the impact on sales.

these rules are made just because of the asshats who do the "buy a wal-mart marker .. lets have fun doing drivebys" thing..
A prime example of how the few ruin it for the masses.

i think paintball Markers, r protected by the toy gun laws though. I don't see anyone in rhode island actually doing all this stuff. That would mean every person on pbn in rhode island would have to take wut they just bought and get it certified.

Ha Ha, I'm going to drive through Providence with my marker hanging off my rearview swinging away... My bling baby, my bling!

it may be more of a "cops being able to bust punks who are driveby wannabes" Law??
i really dont see how or why they would try to enforce this law to start with?
i mean its not like they are lacking in real crimes?

injuries to people is my guess. there's two parts to the law. one says, if you buy a marker you must take a safety course. I think that has to do with too many injuries.
the second part has to do with transporting a marker and how it must be transported which I think is aimed towards punks who drive by shooting at people with paintball markers.
come to think of it, maybe we should give paintball markers to gangs...

Nah, they make red filled paintballs. They use some at some of the bigger scenarios http://www.paintballsupply.us/32_degrees_team_86_prd1.htm

I do believe that gun misuse is a problem because we do need some controlled provisions. But don't get me wrong this is a recreational non-violent sport and pretty safe at that when safety precautions are adhered by. I am a really fan of gun safety considering one of my former classmate’s blew someone’s hip off messing around with a shotgun a year ago.

I've actually played somewhere (don't remember where) that used red fills. It makes you look twice when you see someone that's been hit.

How did all the retarded gun laws that are in place right now (and were in place a year ago) help your classmate? For instance keeping the fire arm out of reach of children :stooges: . Keeping a trigger lock on it (Not sure if this is a law, but it is good practice in a home with children especially retarded children and something that is taught to anyone who goes for there firearm license), and keeping it locked up along with the ammo (Again not sure if this is actually a law, but it is something that ever single person who applies for a FID card is taught in the safety course that the LAW requires). A lot of good that class did for the owner of the gun in question. No laws will prevent retards from being retards. WHoever owned the gun that was being played with as a toy is a jackass and the kid should know better thus making him a jackass. It is to bad he hurt someone else instead of himself. What was he thinking?? "O look its a gun lets play cops and robbers, I go first! bang... opps did I do that??" ... Shooting himself in the nuts would have been much better and would have prevented him from ever having a little retarded bundle of joy to call his own that can grow up and be a menace without a clue.
In case you can't tell I am against this new law being proposed. I do not live in RI, but I live close enough, and MA is a nazi state as it is when it comes to anything "fun" They don't need any ideas.. :patriot: Vote Libertarian!

I think it will be quite difficult to find the saftey courses.

^^The google results for "Paintball saftey" and "Paintball Saftey Rhode Island"^^

A good law, there are some pretty getto parts of jacksonville(not really) a mom bought a gun to protect her family.
Less then 4 days later her 3 year old son shot her 8 year old daughter.
I don't follow you. Whats a good law?
How does your 3 year old get a hold of a gun? Poor kid. ALso saftey should have been on, gun should not have been cocked, and there is no excuse for letting it get into you 3 year olds hands in the first place. Thats no worse, or better then letting him/her drink bleach, or set her/himself on fire with gas, and matchs. Sounds to me like she is a unfit mother.
