server help

i am looking for a server. i need it to be somewhat new like a peniteum 3 but i dont have 300 to drop on a new one any help would be great!!!

umm your not going to get a server for 300 bucks, if you mean processor then you might have better luck.

A old, but new p3 is what he means, and ebay would be the best bet for a computer. Just get a dell celeron or something, with a large hard drive.

u can get a dell 2.5 ghz celeron in its cheapest configuration for 299, not sure of the other specs though

I think you need to determine what you want the server to do. Are you going to use it as a print serve? Or will it serve as a data store for music, movies, porn, etc.? If it's going to store applications and you'll going to have terminals call from it, you'll want to get some processing power.

A $300 Dell is, $300 for a reason. Figure out what you want the machine to do and how long you want it last. Then I think we as a community can better advise you.
