I am getting another gun and I have it narrowed down to either a DM6 or Hybrid Shocker. As far as what you guys have heard, what do you think would be a better gun for the money? I am asking this here because I think you guys have a good idea about paintball related topics and I am against asking people on PbNation (idiots).

Info on the DM6...

*Ultralite Barrel-Accuracy at its finest, the standard UltraliteTM 14 inch barrel.

* On/Off - The DM6's integrated on/off air supply allows you to de-gas your marker at any time. Also Includes the Airport On/Off that is perfectly balanced for an easy twist.

* Hyper2TM - Consistent air flow through the Hyper2TM in-line air regulator

* Self Cleaning Eye - The DM6 features an all new internal anti-chop eye sensing system that is self cleaning providing trouble free high rate of fire.

* Low Pressure- The low 145 psi operating pressure provides smooth operating performance with less shot bounce.

* All New Grip Frame - The DM6 is the proud owner of the worlds lightest, most compact and comfortable 45 grip frame available. The new hour-glass design allows for a sleeker profile, while heads-up display lights alert you to status of your gun without having to take your eyes off the game

* Logo - Cast aluminum inset DYE logo

* Legal Software - PSP and NPPL tournament software.

* Roller Bearing Trigger - Completely adjustable trigger design allows you to customize your trigger position and refraction point. Trigger roller bearing inserts give the trigger stability and a smooth swing return.

* Ultralite - The DM6 is over 1/2 inch shorter with light weight compact body. The length has also been reduced by 1/2 inch.

* Ultralite Sticky - Ultralite Sticky3 grip is standard and provides an anatomically correct fit to your hand. It is co-molded with a tacky rubber grip and hard plastic under-frame.

* LED Control - High Intensity LED provides identification to program functions. The DM6 has an all new heads-up display light which alerts you to the status of your gun, while still being able to focus on the game.

* Metal Power Buttons - Upgraded the standard membrane pad to a metal/rubber button pad. Stainless steel buttons are guaranteed not to fail.

* Improved FUSE bolt - The improved removable one-piece Fuse bolt system operates at 145psi, has greater air flow and is more efficient.

* Internal LPR - The modular internal LPR is smaller and provides more efficient shot consistency and quality.

* Locking Adjustable Feed Neck - Low Profile locking feed port with adjustable clamp neck allows you to use your choice of hopper

What I like/dislike about the DM6...

I like the self cleaning eyes, the super low operating pressure, the looks, the regulator, and the spool valve design.

I dislike the fact that it is a Dye and I hear that some don't work out of the box.

What I like/dislike about the Shocker...

I like the looks, the weight, the size, the barrel, and the Hybrid upgrades.

I dislike the regulator and I hear that Shockers can be unreliable.

So, out of the two, which one would you get if you could? Please vote above.

I would get the dm6 (or even a pm6 if you want to spend less money and get almost the same preformance). First of all the dm6 has a better reg (same build as the aka sidewinder) then the shocker. I have a 15* va on my procarbine and well I find a straight va to be much better. The trigger on the dm6 is better also, my friend bought that hybrid trigger for his shocker and well it doesn't have a very large contact area with the fingers. The ultrlite frame also is a nice toutch, its lite, and feels pretty good. Also the hybrid shocker is just a regular shocker with new milling and some upgrades on it stock. I would also trust Dye Matrix electronic parts over SP electronic parts. My friend with teh shocker has had to replace his eye, he hasn't had it that long either.

That is what I was leaning towards. In an addition to the electronics, does the DM6 use an eye ribbon? I know the PM6 does. I would rather have the DM6 over the PM6 because it will have less kick and will probably shoot better. I also like the UL frame.

I just like how the Hybrid Shocker looks, mainly.

Edit: I never new that about the DM6 regulator. Thanks for the info!

Well it is now safe to say that I no longer want a Shocker. I would like to add an Empire Intimidator. Any thoughts on that gun?
