there are several places that show how to take it apart, but any tips on what kind of lube to use, how to lube the spring stack, how to keep that ball bearing in there, any tips??

It's actually pretty easy, especially after you do it a couple of times. Just follow the directions in the manual. I use dow 33 grease, but I've heard people use all kinds of matrix/shocker greases. Wipe all the old grease off using a LINT FREE towel. Then lightly regrease everything, especially all orings. The big thing to check is the seal on the little piston. Make sure you put the spring stack back in the right order and make sure the circlip is back in the groove.

i guess my problem was with the ball bearing that sits on the bottom of the minireg, it kept falling out of the top hole, i wonder if it should seat more securely.......hmmm, i'll try to take some photos.

Once I had my reg out out of the grip body, it pulled the snap ring and tapped the internals onto a towel. The spring stack itself doesn't really need lube, but I applied a very light coat just for the hell of it. I cleaned out the body of the reg with cue tips. I replaced the velocity adjuster screw, then put the ball bearing in after it. (The velocity screw does not need to be removed to pull or replace the reg body into the grip, and it keeps the bearing from falling back out.)
I put another light coat of lube on the reg seat and the oring of it's body, then inserted that into the reg body. Pushed it down lightly with an allen, being careful not to damage the reg seat oring.
Next came the piston and spring stack. I assembled the spring stack on the lpr piston, turned the reg body upside down, and inserted it that way. Replaced the snap ring, lubed the orings on the outside of the reg body, and inserted it (huh huh, I said insert) back into the grip.
Good luck with yours!

thanks thats exactly what i did to the tee, only thing i think needed to be awere of was that the ball bearing fits through the velocity adjuster screw so it may roll out if you aren't careful.

rebuilt my reg again just like the manual says, still not getting the velocity i need, the screw is almost all the way out and max velocity i'm getting is like 270 and very inconsistant. any help?

What is the output pressure of your air system? Does the bolt slide smoothly in the breech and past the detents? What is your dwell set at? What is your LPR set at? When servicing the minireg you should always remove the pressure adjustment screw last and re-install before re-assembling the minireg.

hi bob,

my output pressure is 450 (out of a macdev gladiator reg). the bolt slides smoothly in the breech and past the detents, the dwell is at 8, the LPR is at 2 shims less than stock.

i think the key lies in the ball bearing, does that go underneath the pressure adjustment screw or above? meaning, does that ball bearing sit at the bottom of the reg? thanks!

fixed the low velocity issue by adding a shim back in, so lpr is at around 62.
