ok, i have a "gat" and i cannot use my reloader b now because im breaking paint. now this cant be too hard to fix seeing how the empire works fine on almost every other gun known to man. settings at dwell-9, loader-fast force, rof 30, tr 1, lpr-stock...at 290 fps

so what is it about the empire that is causing paint to break? lets isolate the problem.

1. am i just plain chopping?
answer: no, not enough paint in the breech to be chops, just a small amount on bolt, most in barrel.

2. is the empire crushing paint?
answer: doubtful, the same hopper, with the same paint, worked fine on a proto and a shocker today, all at same temperature.

3. am i using too small of a barrel bore?
answer: no, balls roll through fine, and it worked fine with an egg

4. is the force of the bolt breaking paint?
answer: no, works fine with an egg, thus isolating the problem with the empire

5. is the temperature cauing paint to break?
answer: possibly contributing, but no, cause it was fine with an egg.

6. is the empire pushing paint past the detents, causing double feeding, and thats causing breaks?
answer: this is the only thing i can think of, but the angel detents seem to be high quality, and the empire doesnt push past shocker, proto, or ion detents... i am thinking this has to be the problem.

what if i put stiffer springs in place of the stock detent springs? or any other thoughts of why empires do this? i know alot of you are having this problem and it cant be too hard to fix.

lower your loader setting. you will not notice that much of a difference. lower the rof until the breakage stops, then slowly raise it. I know with my tadao, one day a eye delay of 3 is fine, sometimes I have to raise it as high as 6 depending on the condition of the paint. Do you have any loader mods, i.e., shocktech gear or Boost batteries? does your bolt show a lot of wear?

i got the gun a week ago brand new, the bolt shows a little wear but nothing major. im using an empire reloader b, with a bone battery pack, and its on setting 1.

i dont see where the eye delay would help. cause im not chopping, its barrel breaks mostly. ill try it though, im up for anything

I would set the Reloader to setting 2, thats what I use and I rarely have any breakage/choppage issues. This and a hopper delay alteration should get you good to go.

is the wear on the bottom of the bolt?

there isnt really any noticable wear, just a little rub all over

Did you have to post this question in 4 forums?

actually its only 3 (4 if u count pbn). and yes i did have to, cause if you read them, you will see that i got different answers and ideas in every thread.

did u really have to ask if i needed to put it in 4 places?

you need to put the hopper speed on 3 LEDs- force feed instead of 4 LEDS on force feed fast- that is the time that the ball has to settle in the breech- if the ball doesnt have enough time to fully settle in the breech- then it will get clipped and possibley chop- so the slower (more time) it has in the breech actually the better- try its on 3 LEDs lit and if it still chop put it on 2 LEDs lit- i know you said that its not all chopping its more of barrel breaks but its that little clipping parts that could make that happen and if not make your dwell 1-2 milliseconds higher
