I've just recieved my very first Angel and it has already had it's share of problems. First the LCD screen was bad and the grip didn't come with the clear plastic window. When I went out to play, the first shot after being idle for a few minutes would be a dud then it would work fine, it would also double feed from time to time. I was going to try adjusting dwell and the LPR, but the LPR design looked different than in the picture so I didn't touch it. I really like this marker, I bought it as a backup for my '02 Timmy but I think it will end up being my primary as soon as I get the bugs out. Is there an upgraded manual out there? Also I'm wondering what kinds of extra tools and spare parts I should carry in my tool kit.

Did you buy it used? It sure shouldn't have those problems if it came in a box. What hopper are you using to get that double feed...Halo tends to do that, and sometimes the Egg if the balls don't stack right.
good question, where did you buy it from?? The double feed isnt that big of a problem, but it sounds like you could have a defective marker. Most likely not, but it's not what you payed for.

well it certainly sounds like it was not an 03 LCD. I've yet to see one of those for sale used. However I would assume it's possible. Now as for the LCD not working, that's a simple part to replace, you can also get a new screen that goes in the grips too. If it was new it would not have had these problems, I would certainly say something to the person you bought it from. After getting the simple stuff figured out, I'd recommend getting it completely tuned up by a professional the first time. Since you're in CA try either Cobra, or Predator. Both are exceptional places to have an Angel tuned.

My 2k3 angel also has the dud shot you were talking about after being idle for a little while. I was also wondering why it would do that

You can get new LCD screens from one of our sponsors. Try www.angelparts.com They will have all your angel needs. And your LPR is supposed to be between 85-90 PSI you might want to have that checked.
As for the double feeding, what kind of ball detents are you using? The ball detents might be a little week. And if your using a HALO, sale it and get a egg.....Because HALO's have been known to double feed, and chop balls with an angel. Might I reccomend the Indestruct ball detent......
First of all, if you have a halo, you shouldn't "sale it" like 2k1darklcd said. The indestruc detent he speaks of is made by cobra. I have both the stock and Cobra Detents and they work flawlessly with my angel. I believe the 03's lpr pressure should also be set higher than previous year's settings. You might want to consult your manual on that one, if you have one. I don't think he purchased this marker used, but I could be wrong. I hope he replys to his own thread......

It's a fresh out of the box LCD '03 that I bought from Commander Mo's Paintball. I took it over to Warped and they ended up swapping out the LCD with a new one (thanks). The hopper I'm using is an egg.

You bought a marker, and didn't receive a plastic screen, and it wasn't in tune?

Try contacting MO's......And asking about these problems, and see what they will do....They will probably fix any problem your experiencing for free, or close to it......

Since your in California, you should probably send it to either Cobra Paintball, or Predator. (Save you some money by not shipping it all the way to the East Coast )
Since you are having so many problems with a new marker, see if you can take it back to mo's to get a brand spanking new one. If they are out of stock, ask them to fix it for you, for free. That's what I would do. If I bought a brand new marker and I was getting these such problems, I would be hella pissed.

I emailed the tech guy from wdp "Frazer Cooley" and this is what he have to say "Sounds like the ram snap ring will be set too tight, just back it out a fraction and it should be OK."
So i'm going to give it a try and will see this weekend if he is right...

Call Mo's up guys. These are problems that, while easy to fix, sholdn't have to be dealt with on a new out-of-the-box model. Im sure the place you ought it from will help you with all of these problems.

i also bought an 03 from mos and had the missing window problem and such... he sent me a new window ...the missing window was a mistake from wdp...and with the dud shots turn up your input and play with it ... the gun just takes a while to get broken in... trust me i was worried to.. my gun can roll at 14 bps and not skip a beat shooting ultra evil now... oh yeah another thing that will make your gun preform better is to set the dwell on 16 and your mrof on 17.. these are the perfect settings.
