has anyone had any problems with a cobra bolt in their lcd?
I just bought one, and when I try to use the cobra, my lcd acts like it lost all its pressure. it has enough power to push the ball into the barrel. once or twice it has managed to shoot a couple of feet. The package says the bolt is for the ir3. I have been told that the ir3 cobra bolt will work in the lcd. I specifically ordered one under the impression that it was for an lcd. I can put my stock lcd bolt in and the gun works great.
anyone know what might be causing my problem with the cobra bolt? i've checked the ball detent. I haven't taken apart my gun so I don't think the selenoid was hooked to the intellifeed. (plus the gun works fine with the stock bolt)

Is the bolt, as big as the bolt chamber? Meaning is there alot of space, allowing air to flow through it without creating back pressure, to help propel the ball out of the barrel? That would be my only guess.
Your ball detents might be too stiff, and not let the bolt go forward enough, but since it works with the stock I don't know. But check how the bolt fits in the bolt chamber. Make sure it fits kind of snugly, with no extra area...... so the air won't go "around" the bolt, and not hit the bolt.
Do you have an angel toolkit?? You will probably just have to adjust your ram. Make sure your bolt's pin is hitting the BACK of the hammer. You should hear your gun "snap" into place when you close the breech. I have a cobra IR3 bolt, but it works great in my gun. Like the techs said, IR3 bolts can work in LCD's but not the other way around. Unless you want to pay for a new cops rod

2k1DarkLCD, I think the problem is with my detent and bolt. I took it completely out which caused double feeding. my lcd would hardly shoot with two balls in the barrel. I found out that if I loaded one ball at a time, my lcd shot fine. I then examined the bolt and upon a suggestion of a friend, I broke out the dremel. I have started to shave off some of the bolt so that it would not hang up on the detent.
thanks for the help guys.
I think this will solve the problem, I just havent had time to see since it has been raining so much here in south GA. (not to mention working two jobs)
I wouldn't recommend that unless you know what you're doing. Altering the face of your bolt can alter performance.

If you have any small burrs, or anythign on the face of the bolt, you will cut/chop paint like crazy. I do not suggest you alter your bolt in any way........

i was just shaving some off the side and not really altering the face of the bolt. i guess i'll stop if i am going to mess something up. i guess i should buy a new detent and see if that fixes the problem. if not I guess i'll have to get another bolt.
here are some new ball detents that I was working on. when installed they do not stick out as far and seem to be working great on El pirata's 05 speed. these are not finished in this pic.
