Legalizing a 2005 Speed

Hello all! Today I went out and shot my 05 speed for the first time and came home with 1 chop (only because the trigger offset setting was turned to 5) but the thing sounds like it is bouncing like crazy on offset setting one. I took the back magnet off of the trigger and this made the trigger really light. I was wondering should I get a new board that has a better bounce setting or just make my trigger need a longer pull???

By the way the gun has the stock board in it at software version 3 if that is needed. I just got it yesterday used. I love the way it feels and shoots but for a semi tournament use I think the refs are going to say it is bouncing.

Taking the back magnet does indeed make the trigger lighter but in return can cause bounce. So try putting the magnet back in and test for bounce

I would strongly recommend you look at the AF SSC 05/06 Speed Tadao Board (http://secure.fixmyangel.com/modules.php?name=catalog&file=product_info&products_id=567&osCsid=1041d3c0dc3220614db8e2654cacd602). It is backed by the MT's, so any problems that you have would be taken care of by them. This is only if you are serious about getting a new board.

I would adjust the trigger with the magnet in and with it out. To test for bounce, I just hit the trigger real fast once, and see if it goes off twice, if it does then you got some bounce.

My trigger was insanely light with the back magnet removed. Try removing the front magnet, I liked that feel better.

the reason your speed 05 bouncing is because you set TR=5!!!
set TR=1 and i can bet you a hersheys cookies and creme bar that it wont bounce!!!
TR=1 is the only TRUE SEMI MODE on a Speed 05 OPTO Board!!!
TR=1 can be set by having only the lowest (1) LED lite up under TR MODE!!!

i would suggest the new Virtue Board for G7/Speed 05's...
it comes out the end of this month and it gives you TR options from 1-50!!!
scans the trigger a ridiculous amount of times per second... so it should eliminate bounce!

You shouldn't have to drop $160 on a board just to remove bounce, come on people. First, try to adjust your trigger the best you can to remove bounce, then set tr to 1, and next try bending the "leaf" that activates the break beam to just activate at the end of the travel to help prevent bounce. That should get all bounce out of your gun. Then if you decide that you want to upgrade your board for the many options and great quality of a Tadao board then by all means go ahead.

I had the stock trigger with one magnet (tried it with the Lg only and Sm only in both positions) It only gives you really 4 options). I ended up here and I selected different sized magnets to get the feel I want.

Also, I switched to a CP trigger which is considerably lighter than the stock. It was a little tough to install but relly eliminated the mechanical bounce contributed by the weight of the actual trigger. Either way, These options are way cheaper than re-boarding your marker. I would try the magnet thing first becasue the magnets are so cheap. (INFO: the Large magnet is 1/4" and the Small one is 3/16" in diameter) I think I installed the 1/8" x 1/32" in the back position (V. wheel closest to the trigger).

Fixed it all thanks I ordered a magnet kit from fixmyangel.com..It is great it has 4 wheels 3 with different size magnets and one with no magnet. Very worth the 30 bucks. Also decided to get the tadao anyways bc it is just kick ass. I love it to death just got a freak kit installed and now am looking into getting a newton evolve kit, and a dezign bolt. Cant wait to do those two mods to finish up the marker. Thanks for the help all

I would suggest getting one even if you dont have bouncing issues it is a totally different feel with different size magnets.:cheers: :cheers: :cheers: :cheers:

How does the NPPL robot test for bounce? Just wondering since I'm assuming you're playing in some kind of semi-only league or series.
