Theres 10 pins on the mobo for the front panel audio

1 - AUD_MIC
2 - AUD_GND
3 - AUD_MIC_BIAS
4 - AUD_VCC
5 - AUD_FPOUT_R
6 - AUD_RET_R
7 - HP_ON
9 - AUD_FPOUT_L
10 - AUD_RET_L

Theres no 8 because there is not a pin on the #8 slot. The hook-ups on my mobo are:

1 - R-IN
2 - L-IN
3 - L-OUT
4 - MIC-IN
5 - R-OUT
6 - GND
7 - GND
8 - MIC-IN

See why Im confused?

Are the pins from the front panel connected or separate? I they are separate just plug each pin into the corresponding spot

The top list is what is displayed on my mobo. The second list is what I have from my front panel, what I want to know if what goes where. Example

1:3
2:7

And so on...

if it doesn't work, don't worry. It won't damage anything. Your mobo (if its relatively new) will recognize the short and will halt during POST. I had this same issue, and I just gave up on trying to figure it out... hehe

What kind of mobo do you have?
