I'm almost positive someone asked this question a looooooooong time ago and one of our great techs gave them an answer. The answer you might ask? Well if I remember correctly there is absolutely no difference between the different colors. The colors were instituted so that techs would know how old the part was. You know like they make red ones from Jan-Jun, and then Green ones from Jul-Dec or something like that. It was just an age thing. You might get some more reasons if you can find it in a search, or if Ken or Eric happens to see this post, but I think that's pretty close.
