the reason I sort of want a PM6 is because it shoots so smooth, quiet, and i heard is has a very long flat trijectory. Does the 06 speed shoot as smooth? i know not as quiet. i really want to know if it has as good of a trijectory or maybe even better. I have heard angels lob balls, is this true. If i get the right answers this will seal the deal on my buying an 06 speed.

Enjoy your physics lesson on trajectory.

For the love of all that is holy. Its TRAjectory... Not tri...

Okay, here's the deal. I, along with countless others I'm sure, are sick of this question. If you even taken a high school level physics class you'll understand why that is a dumb question.

Trajectory has NOTHING to do with the gun type. Flatline barrels use backspin to change a balls flight characteristics. Thats a barrel, has nothing to do with the gun itself.

Physics states that if you fire a paintball at 285 fps with a x* incline from gun A (barring any outside interference, ie wind) it will go the exact same distance as that firing a paintball at 285 fps with x* incline from gun B. Simply stated, the type of gun you're shooting CANNOT affect the ball IN FLIGHT. Therefore, once its been shot at that velocity it will only go so far. That distance will be uniform across all non-flatlined guns at the same velocity.

Tony's post will help if you want to know how far the ball will fly.

thank you, but if you have a two peice barrel and you had a longer back than someone else, then wouldnt the ball fly farther? because more air is used to push on the ball.

Awesome read.

Your posts speak volumes about the American education system. ie. spelling (trijectory) and physics. You need to spend less time on the PB field and more time in class.

When you chrony the gun you are measuring the velocity of the ball when it LEAVES the barrel....regardless of the amount of air used to get it there. From that point it will continue to slow down. The angle and velocity will determine the trajectory. Once the ball has left the barrel the gun and/or barrel is no longer acting on it. (not counting the flatline).

Different barrels may change gas effeciency due to what you are saying. ie. One barrel may require the gun to use less gas to get the ball to the desired velocity. If you change barrels without adjusting the velocity one barrel may make the ball fo farther only because the ball is travelling faster. A ball will travel farther if it leaves the barrel travelling faster. The only other way to change the distance is to adjust the angle. Barring wind conditions, 45 degrees will get you the most distance.

Being an American myself, I feel obligated to mention that not ALL of us received a poor education. On top of that, I hope that the "No Child Left Behind" concept can improve the nations education system. Time will only tell in that matter.

As for Ken's post, I read the first 3 pages, I became more and more disappointed after each post... A sad day for paintball.

Oh, and what the hell is this "kthxbai" §§§§? Doesn't anyone have the decency to write a full sentence anymore? Grr...
