I need a quick reply!, Someone offered my friend an 05 speed for hist sig timmy. I told him its a fair trade, but then someone he knows said that 05 speeds break paint like crazy becasue the ram is weird. Can you 05 speed owners provide some insight any help will be greatly appreciated.

A well tuned angel is a well behaved angel. Any marker set up wrong will break paint. Mine is set up nicely and it has no problem with paint.

You will just need to adjust the ram if chopping occurs.

not true.

blanket statements such as that are usually not true and aren't true in the case of 05 speeds. you can break paint but there are many factors affecting that. only some of which depend on the marker. some depend on the paint and the environment (temperature for example).

If you want to not break paint, you need consistent paint diameter and you need the paint matched to your barrel bore.

did ur friend mess with the dwell at all? thats one thing that cold mess him up royaly. and what tyupe of paint do u use w/ the thing ne way if u got a low dwell rate than itll be less tolorant to lesser quality paint. ( i think i might have gotten that backwards but im not positive)

you got it right. higher dwell = more tolerance for poor quality paint.

ok its just been a while since i read the manual thats all (:smile: see, some of us accuatly read the damn thing before taking it out for a spin, no more plug and pray for me!)

We dont no the person that is offering the 05 i dont no if he messed with dwell. I shoot an a4fly and it works fine. The 05 speed has fly internals so it should preform similar. My friend just wanted to get some opinions on the subject.

as long as u got the manual or print it out itll tell u how to set the dwell to defaulut which is best for most people. but u gotta just kno what the hell ur doign same with that timmy ur trading. jsut kno how to work with it
