I was just lookin at closed threads and some them were closed because it was a comparison topic. Well, first off, how you gunna find out what better if you dont compare two things? and second most of seemed more like a "whats your opinion" things. The more i am on AOG the more i dislike it. You come for help you get crap back. People tell other people to search for topics which have not been discussed. All im sayin is its like the difference between mcdonalds and a chinese resturant. The chinese folk are so much nicer than Mcdonalds people. AOG should take a few tips from IOG (impulse owners group) on courtesy. IMO

the reason that comparison topics between guns are not allowed is:
A) you're on a gun specific board, you came here to learn about said specific gun
B) being on a gun specific board you're going to get a lot biased opinions so you still accomplish nothing
and the biggest reason of all
C) all gun comparison threads invariably degenerate into flaming another user, or product etc. We haven't allowed flames here from day 1 and we don't intend to start.
now the search thing....well the way I see it is even some of the new members have seen a topic more than once, and repetition gets annoying. Someone comes in and asks "how do I intellifeed my revvy?" Not only is it in the wrong place, but there is even a sticky on how to do it with step by step pictures. Some things have been hashed out so many times that it's ridiculous. We're not asking you to search for everything, but good god at least make sure there isn't a thread discussing the exact same thing on the same page.
As for courtesy.....well I think we do a pretty good job of showing common courtesy in general, remember tho you only get treated the same way you treat others. If you come in here and attempt to stir the pot expect people to get annoyed and tell you so.
Thanks

Ok, here's my take on it.
Firstly, with comparison topics, do you think you are going to get unbiased opinions between guns on the Angel Owners Forums? Everyone here is obviously an Angel user. Therefore it would stand to reason that everyone will be somewhat biased towards the Angel. Plus if you wanna find what gun is 'better', try them out, what's better for you is not better for me.
Secondly, the reason we ask people to search first is because 9 times out of 10, the question has been asked and answered previously. Honestly, how many threads do you need on 'What barrel should I get?'. If you can't find the answer, then go ahead and post the question, but please do a little research and ask informed questions.
Third, all I've seen you post so far is stuff to stir up sh_t. Please stop. Its pointless and just clutters up the Forums.

either way, serpent, please try to enjoy your time on AOG. We try to make it a board with a higher standard. As Emmit stated, the "vs" topics always turn into flame wars. Play test any and all equipment you're considering buying, then post up here and say: "I played with x and y. I like this feature of x that y doesn't have, what's the real advantage of said feature?" and on, and on. You'll actually get somewhere there...

we should do something about moderators goin off on wacky tangents in he middle of a serious discussion...i start getting into a thread and then all a sudden, the mods blow up into a big nonsense jam ^_-
lol, its funny though

What would be good...as frustrating as it is to get the questions over and over....always be polite when requesting that a new member use the search. I've read serveral "please use the search" responses, and would feel bad seeing how hard someone had been slammed. Good behavior starts in our own back yard. All of us...please remember this.
Jim, I think you are right...I like how things turn into a circus...it keeps things lite!
