ok... i just traded my impulse for a 2k1 C&C LCD and the guy that i traded said he has never cleaned anything or done anything to it except adjust his velocity and clean the bolt when he broke paint....... so basically what i am asking is is there anything i need to adjust.. make sure if anything is set right.... or clean anything?..... thanks for your help

Well the first thing I would do is get it out to a field/range and shoot a few hundred paintballs through it. See how well it performs and chrono it periodically during shooting to see how consistent it is.

If everything is good, don't mess with it. Just keep it cleaned, maybe put 1 or 2 drops of love juice in the minireg and fire it a few times, then clean the bolt, chamber and barrel.

But here are the few things they may need to be adjusted (there are walk thoughs in the Technical Forum):
1. LPR - On a LCD, the LPR should be at around 87 psi (the range is 80 to 90 psi or so). Check this every now and then, you'll need the Angel Tool Kit (good investment btw). Having the LPR off can effect consistency and dropoff/shoot down.
2. Snap Ring - This may need to be adjusted if there are alot of shots on the gun. This can cause several things to 'be not quite right' with the gun.
3. Trigger - this is more so for your comfort/feel/whatever. Setting the trigger is more of a personal preference on how short/long and how much/little tension you want. The only problem from the trigger would be if its too short, it can prevent the gun from 'booting' properly.

Aside from those, there are not alot of things that need (or should be adjusted). But again, if the gun is shooting fine, don't mess with it.

If you really want to make sure everything is good to go with it, send it to one of the sponsors and have them do a full tune-up and clean. Its not very expensive, and well worth the money.

There are links on the top of the forums for the manuals, if you didn't get one. Also, Ken from Performance Angel has written up a few howto's in the Technical forum for tuning Angels, check it out, well worth the read.

And welcome to AOG and the world of Angels.

First thing you should buy is an angel toolkit. That will allow us to help you more. More than likely, you will discover problems, and we will be able to help you fix them. Angels are usually fine as long as you take good care of the, i.e. you dont drop kick them or be rough with them. My angel hadn't been tuned for 3 years and it still shot fine. I bought it from a co-worker. I just sent it in for a tune up because I was hoping it could shoot even better than it did. I suggest you just send it into a sponsor, you might have worn o-rings, an incorrect LPR pressure which could cause dropoff and velocity fluctuations , and it probably hasn't been oiled at all, which is really bad. YOu are supposed to oil your gun every 8,000 shots. 30$ for a full gun tune-up, you can't beat it.

looks like autarkis beat me to it. I highly recommend you use the search function before you post anything. Most likely it has been asked before. Welcome to AOG!

I suggest you get the Angel Toolkit. It will come handy when fine-tuning your Angel.

If it has never been cleaned, you might want to take apart your Mini-Reg and clean that. If that is dirty, check you LPR Assembly as well for dirt and debris.

An angel is far down on the maintenance list. There isn't much too look for besides the mentioned things above. You might also want to take your RAM assembly out, and oil the 2 o-rings on there. Also check your hammer if it is brass, and make sure it isn't flaking or anything.

Your best bet like stated above is to send to one of our sponsors on the site, they are great guys......And do a hell of a job....Your gun will be in its top performance level possible when you get it back, and if it comes back and you don't notice a difference, or they didn't do a good job.......More than likely they will redo it for free........

if you want to know how to do so yourself, you're already in the right place. AOG and the LCD forum.

I wouldn't reccomend trying to remove things without the WDP tool kit, because you will end up scraping something, or gauging it. And it will then leak..... I would send it away, or invest in a tool kit so in the future you can "do it yourself"

He never said he was going to do it without tools........... He knows he needs a toolkit, you're the 3rd person to tellhim that on this thread.

Your best bet would be to order it from one of the sponsors, but most places on the internet will carry them

Also try www.buypb.com for all your angel needs

Like the one who started this thread i am clueless about angels. So my next question is how do i apply the love juice? Do i apply drops of it somewhere?

flippulse

... and what is the Angel Tool Kit for

SkeL

The love juice should be applied in 2 places. Put a few drops into your macroline going into your mini-reg, or whatever reg you have. Then place a few drops (3-4?) in the area by your hammer. Just open your rotor breech and put the drops of love juice in there. 3-4 drops might be too much, but that's how much I use and I don't experience any problems.

ok cool.... another question... since my LCD is a 2k1.. even if it is in awesome condition is it still worth less because its a 2k1?.... because i had an angel tech that i went to run thru my whole gun and he said that it was in better condition than most 2k2 LCD's that he had looked at

Why would you want to sell your angel...they are priceless to us. But in answering you question...they are the same unless you have different milling or it is great condition. Those are the factors that will make it worth anything.

Gold cup is a very dirty/impure oil. Try KC Trouble Free if you don't have Love Juice. Dow 33 is my preferred alternative to Love Juice.
