whats even funnier than this dude being so lame, is the fact that the people who run pbstar didnt fix the exploit when the site went live again... talk about failures.

and as lame as it is, to break websites.. a big site like this should improve their safety or suffer from morons who always have too much time on their hands..

you see that is where you are wrong.

Unless they can prove that it was him, a IP address or a nickname mean nothing, an ip address can be spoofed, and unless they go all the way to his ISP, which would require a warrent or a abnormallaly freindly, co-operative manager they would require a warent to see the records.

Even that is easy to get around, one never uses one's own ISP, steal the account name and password from another, easily done with a simple program - targer win98 pc's, they keep that information in plaintext, dont know about XP.

then to make it even more dificult, one connects through other hosts, so you end up having a zig-zag patten in which the information is passed through - which sorting through that is like finding a needle in a haystack.


then again - this guy is a script-kiddy not a cracker, or hacker, so he is more likely to brag about it to someone - confession ?

Seems like he's revealing more and more about himself anyway. And even if he does get found out, chances are there won't be enough to charge him. But there is always the old school way of gettin back at him :stooges:
