My new 06 speed will not shoot under 330 feet per second.... Its not just a case where im stupid and was turning the regulator the wrong way, and a friend of mine suggested that it was a Paint/Bore Match issue.. but i really dont think that was the case.. the paint seemed fine..
What would i have to adjust to fix this? :puzzled:
i was looking in the owners manual.. and im not sure what all these things should be set to... like the LPR and Dwell.... ive never had a gun with an LPR before
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Well, are you using a LP or HP tank?

This is the classified section. this should be moved.
but yes, if you're using an HP tank, thats the problem.

He's got a LP tank. It's my friend. I don't know how to fix his problem.

i was looking in the manual, and it said i can take shims off the LPR.. but i dont have some wierdly threaded metric tool to screw into the lpr to get it out of there...
it kindof bugs me when i cant take my gun apart.. >_< that much money for a gun and they cant send one more little tool to take the lpr off?
Hahah, oh well, i'll find someting to use... eventually

There is a special tool I believe... Comes in a $40 kit from WDP.

mate - its not your lpr thats causing it - very unlikely to be your dwell either -if you dont know ,take it to a tech -its probably the reg if your definately using a lp tank -i would check your tank O/P first

i cant rule out that its the LPR,because i was looking in the manual and in the section about the velocity being too high/low, and it says:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
-Is the High pressure reg set correctly?
< I have a LP tank, output of 450psi
-Is the velocity adjustor screw set correctly?
< if they mean the adjustment on the Grip/regulator, yeah, it was turned all the way in.
-is the bolt sticking?
< i dont think the bolt's sticking, it shoots fine O_o i dont think it sticks though
-Is the LPR set correctly?
< This was the only problem that i could imagine being wrong, especially since it controlls the operating pressure of the gun.. the "Exploded view" of the LPR showed 3 shims, i had 5... so i took 2 of them out,
Its worth a try, before i go to spend money taking it to a tech..
-Is the valve dwell Set correctly?
< Its on the Factory default dwell, but i dont think dwell would make such a huge difference to make it shoot at 397fps
----------------------------------------------------------------------
if at all possible, i dont want to take it to a shop, i'd perfer to fix my own gun, but if this LPR adjustment dosent, it looks like i have no other choice..
if it is the regulator... it should be covered under a warranty, i just bought it like.... 3 weeks ago ^_^ so, no worries
Thank you though

Actually, nevermind guys, Thank you for all your help.. it turns out that the Nitrogen Tank i ordered from Paintballgear.com was in fact a High pressure tank....
i screwed it onto a tippmann and it cycled...
I ordered a low pressure tank, they just sent me the wrong one.... i never noticed since i had an impulse before.... guess i just got ultimately shafted on this deal...

try this-turn youre dwell down 2.and get a 3mm screw, the screw fits the LPR pistojn (or does on the g7's atleast) and if you get the lpr/piston out, dont mess with the shims, just remove one or 2.put it back together.and blah blah blah.that should get you down to like 290 or so
goodluck
call up actionvillage, and have them exchange your tank. tell them that you aren't paying to ship your tank either. You shouldn't have to since they made the mistake.

I did all of that already, it Does work, to an extent.. but 290fps is No good considering almost every field's regulations are 285fps and below...

Anyway, it turns out that PMI tanks have "rebuildable" reg's in them... and i bought a replacement Spring Stack kit for $14... it made my tank's output pressure 450psi...
Action Village said there was nothing they could do, since i had used the product.... Wow... I wonder how i would have figured out it was HP if i hadnt ;).... there are no markings on the tank/reg... i looded very thoroughly
Its all good and taken care of now... thanks guys'
yeah, thats a problem with PMI tanks. There's no external markings to let you know output pressure.
but the rebuildable reg thing is very nice. Glad to hear you got everything worked out.
Stupid action village...:thumbsdow
