View Full Version : two flys. two problems, PLEASE HELP :(
ok so i have one fly that has been giving me trouble, it will sometimes stop shooting during a game, so ill turn it off then on again and itll shoot and then stop once again. so i figured it was the battery. friend charges it up day of the tourny and it worked ok for the last game
then the next time i go to use it i have the same issue(after i charged it in my car with my charger) so i think ok maybe its the charger. so i bought another fly so that i can have it and the charger
long story short, the fly didnt hold the charge i gave it for 2 hrs
so i open up the grip frame and what do i notice? my microswitch has detached from the board and is just dangling in position. so whatever im hoping i can get that fixed?
next problem, the other fly i bought has LP 4.1 software and it bounces like MAD. i want it to be just in semi auto but im not sure how to do this. if someone could help me that would be awesome

if the on/off plug just came out you can just plug it back in, that's what i understood from your post anyways,
if you meant that the wire came loose, well if you have any soldering skills you could fix that yourself, otherwise contact your nearest master tech
sorry i guess i didnt explain myself properly
basically what i want to know is this
a) can the microswitch be be put back on the board
b) does anyone know anything about the 4.1 software?

microswitch? unless you have an aftermarket board, there is no microswitch....
can you take a picture of what you're talking about?
heres a pic. hopefully you can see the microswitch there, my cam is not very good. there is also a pic of where it is supposed to be on the board.

microswitch is to the left of the board in this pic ^^^

that's called an opto leaf, not a microswitch.
looks like it snapped off at the top, you're going to have to buy a new leaf from one of the service centers or maybe try to get one in the bst section somewhere.
you have to pop open the black cartridge that contains the board and just put the new one in there, or you could send it to one of the mt's to do it for you ofcourse if you're not comfortable doing it...
there are a couple more options you have, you could do a magnetic trigger conversion from one of the mt's etc. etc.
by the way, are you sure that second gun is a fly? or is it a fly'd lcd? it looks like the latter to me, just making sure you didnt get jipped....
it is a fly, i put the 45 frame on there
both my flys have .45's on them
is it hard to get into the casing on the board? caue that seems like the quickest and easiest fix? or can i do the magnetic thing at home?
im about 1.5 hrs from the nearest MT and its snowing like a bugger out and i need to play tomorrow
:(
heres where i am now
i got the casing off, now im just trying to figure out how to place the leaf back onto the baord, and how it stays there

here is my thoughts-
the reason why it probly broke is because you had to bend it so many times just so that you could get the trigger the way you wanted(that is what i did when i had that frame on mine and i realized it was messing the leaf spring to much so i cut it off and screwed it onto the trigger)
that would probly be the best sollution to that problem
and the trigger will fell so much better
and if you do what i said, you should also look into rare earth magnets, like 5 bucks from radio shack

also, the leaf spring is supposed to be longer than that and loop around the casing screw part
so it will be practicly impossible to hook it back up that way
you could, but you would have to solder it or something back on

yea, which is why i said he'd need a new one, solder will never hold that
in your picture, you just missed the part where the leaf loops into, it;s the rear part of the casing at the top.
and what paint reliever said is also an option, by putting the leaf spring on the trigger like the newer angels already have it, although that would be a bit more complicated to do
so i still say the easyest solution is to just buy a new leaf, it's probably under $10

its all up to him
i found that it felt much more better when i had the leafspring on the trigger, it wasnt as stiff
how did you go about attaching the leaf to the trigger? solder or glue?
any chance you have pics of this?

i think he said he screwed it on, so he tapped the trigger.
but now that i think of it, some good glue may do the trick.
you will need atleast a good trigger spring for this to work though

i just attached it with a screw
you can just use some good glue
and then i also bought rare earth magnets from radioshack-those are like 5 bucks tops
and attached one to the trigger, and one to the wheel
i dont have any pics because i sold the frame and the board
