Ok so I just got of the phone with some guy from dell, he was trying to explain the diffrence between software and hardware. I all ready knew this and the guy just wouldnt listen, then he said that he charged a fee. I got P.O. and hung up.

What I am trying to do is set it up so that FB raido plays in iTunes instead of quick player, I have told quickplayer not to play MP3 fliles and I have told iTunes to play MP3 files, but its still playing in quick time

Any ideas

Go into itunes, and go to settings or something like that, and set that as the default media player for as many check boxes you can get your hands on.

By saying that is what you did, does that mean the problem is corrected, or you did that before calling Dellidiot.

Any ideasDell does have a few schmucks working for them but overall my experience with them has been phenominal. Anyway. Right click your media you want to play. Highlight OPEN WITH, then click CHOOSE PROGRAM. From there scroll through the players you have listed and click the one you want. If that's the one you want to always open that type of media then check the always block.

In dell's defense, i own three dell computers and am happy with them all. 10 years ago, I would have told you that I would never buy a brand name computer again since you're only paying for the name. I bought 'no-name' computers and even considered building my own (which I discovered was an even more expensive undertaking). I bought a dell, then another and then another cuz they're reliable, easy to access the insides (smart design, IMO).

I will say that most of my interactions with customer support are similar to yours with Dell where you quickly learn that you know more about the product than they do or at least more than they give you credit for.

depending on what type of system your budiling, do it yourself is not always more expensive.

yeah, I've built a good 6+ systems for friends and family under a grand, and usually with at leat 512mb or more of memory (depending On CPU type). I usually cut cost's by buying the same thing for all PC's. Our business on the other hand does not trust me enough (Thanks to my UBER young idiotic fascist supervisor) so we buy nothing but DELL's. Went with HP for a bit but they're full of bloat-ware.

how's the Pod-casting coming along?

hmmm I don't have an IPOD however I did once need to download quicktime and I got ITUNES+Quicktime I thought this was no good for me since I don't have IPOD but I cannot delete one without deleting the other, so I thought they had started integrated Itunes+quicktime the same way windows does with Media Player. And seeing that Video IPOD is VIDEO I would naturally assume quicktime will be used. This is more of an outsiders opinion than a crack at a solution but I tend to think in the simplist terms when something doesn't work.

I've built a lot of comps, 10+ for sure. Had a Dell before I started custom and for a gaming comp Dell sucks, build ur own def.

Pirata has the idea, that's what I was gunna post. If u have Quicktime Pro it has the option to auto format videos to the iPod Video format, I used Videora to put vids on my Vid iPod. Got Boondock Saints on there :D
