So confused about Ram Adjustment

I have read many instructions on ram adjustments using the search and on other sites, I have been so confused. I need to get it right for sure before I go insane. If this is the hammer ||----||ooooooooo, which lip do I want the bolt pin (indicated by @) to clip on when closing the breech. a) ||@---||ooooooooo or b) ||---@||ooooooooo. All the talk about grooves, lips, edge, back, front, rear is all very confusing to me because I may be retarded, so I thought a picture would be better. Some instructions seem as if they could be interpreted both way, one way, then another instruction contradicts it. As of now, I have it set up as b). I also understand that you should do this while gassed up. I appreciate your time and hopefully I can get this sorted out. Cheers.

bolt pin should just barely be clipping inner rear edge of the groove(closest to the back of the marker) you speak of. Only adjust the ram position in the foward direction and with the LPR set. If you have to back the ram out a little because you went to far cycle your marker and the adjust foward again.

yup, option b would be the correct one, option a would infact be very bad, as the hammer would be slamming the pin pretty hard
