View Full Version : 05 Speed LEDs (What do they mean?)

Edit: OK, this is what I have come up with, I believe it to be right.
In order of pushing the interior button.
Top LED off: The led lit indicates the software version. For versions 1 through 6, count the number of LEDs that are lit. If only the top one is lit, it indicates you have version 7.
Red Blinking: Trigger Offset. More leds = more likely to bounce. 6 LEDs lit activates PSP mode.
Orange Blinking: Loader Type. Up to 4 LED's will be lit, indicating, (1)Agitating, (2)Fast Agitating, (3)Force Fed, (4)Fast Force Fed.
Green Blinking: Dwell. One LED lit sets a dwell of 7, each additional LED adds one more millisecond, up until 12 (6 leds lit)
All Colors Cycling: With just one of the smaller LEDs illuminated the MROF with eyes on will be 15bps. each additional small LED that becomes illuminated indicates that the MROF with eyes on will be increased by 3bps - up to a maximum of 30bps (indicated by all LEDs illuminated)."

I know thatthe colors lighting up while you are shooting is indicating your ROF the more lit up the faster you are shooting. Have you read the manual btw?

I spent quite a bit of time looking
Yes I have read the manual, and searched through every thread I could find. But I can not find a definite answer on the cycling colors. My guess is MROF, but what settings do the leds represent? This is in programming mode, not making the lights light up by shooting.
I have noticed that when Trigger Offset is set to 6(PSP Mode), I am unable to change the setting on the Cycling colors menu. When 5 or less are lit up under Trigger offset, I can adjust the Cycling Color menu from 1 to 6 leds lit.

Do you have to have version 7 to activate psp mode?

So, I'm guessing that when the '05 Speeds top LED light is flashing red/ orange, it's the mrof mode and not what the manual says is the flashing red??
My determination would be the same because when I go into the demo mode, according to the manual with my '05 Speed with Version 6 (6 Led's lit-according to the manual), then that in effect would be PSP mode?
It cycles about as fast as my team mates Shocker when it's in PSP mode.
Just was curious to the same question.
I've had my Angel less than a week, got it tweaked with the already purchased tool kit (invaluable item), and ready to play Sunday.

is the all colors thing for JUST the 06 speed boards? cause mine doesnt go, red, orange, green, all colors. just red, orange, green, no light.
If you have Ver. 7 then yes the multi color flashing light should be there. Have you verfied what software version you have?

If you go into demo mode the angel eyes will not work right. pull the trigger and old for 2 sec to deactivate the eyes. Then make sure the gun is in demo mode and you halo hopper is on its fastest setting. II shot so fast it was scary and i didnt even break one ball.

No, version 6 has it also.
So ver 6 has PSP mode? Ok, I just got my 05 speed and it has ver 6 software. I put the TR so that all 6 LED's are lit. It is to my understanding that PSP mode is three pulls then it ramps to 15bps. Mine ramps when I pull the second time (eyes off, I haven't gotten air yet to shoot with paint) and when I stop, it shoots 4 or 5 more times. It can't be bounce because I hold the trigger in to stop and their's no air to create kick. Is this right, or is it just demo mode and I do not have PSP? Thanks.

I had a 05 speed with ver 7 & loved it. Liked it better than my A1. I think this new ego I picked up will replace it as my most liked gun tho.
Go with ver 7. Has a couple of adjustable semi modes & a mode that just pure ramping with adjustable cap...its sick uncapped

I'm stuck all the way in NZ with Version 2 (its so crap). There aint no Angel Techs here, and it'd cost too much to get sent over and back again. I'm probly gonna have to get a pred or see if I can source down a Tadao.
fixit
11-24-2006, 08:43 AM
Tadao isnt making boards for 05 speeds anymore so you would have to find a used one & hope it is in working order.
Sometimes you will find a flashed stock board in the angel parts section or you could post for one in the wtb section.
I think the biggest problem you will find will be international shipping, you have to go thru customs and such & there are special conditions to meet. Like customs information on the outside of the box & etc.
Flashing to a new version is cheap compared to a new board and you know it will work fine because its angel parts & done by angel techs. Good luck
Jawa_nz
11-24-2006, 11:46 PM
Yeah, specially since customs here don't like ramping modes. I just want a board to make the most of my digits; faster eye logic, better adjustability, faster thinking power.
So finding a used tadao that is in good working order, might be a little harder. I spose since I'm all the way in NZ then I'd just have to take their word for it that it works. I also wanna be able to intellifeed my halo, which you can do on the tadao but not on the angry. I hear you can intelli off the opto, is that correct?
If I can then I'll probably just try to get it flashed. And get them to send some stuff with it on the way back.
fixit
11-25-2006, 09:04 AM
The choice is yours but I really liked version 7. Like I said earlier you get a couple of semi modes with adjutable ROF cap & a ramp only mode with adjustable ROF cap. And all the adjustability for dwell, debounce, trigger pull and so on. And you will save about $100 to use elsewhere.
Out of all the guns I have had the 05 speed & Ego are my favorites. And ramp mode uncapped is just plain silly fast. On the average I shot a loader & 5pods each game. (reball)
As for loaders, the new Cheetah board for Halo & Empire loaders from Tag sportz is the way to go. Use 6 cell battery packs only & my testing shows it to be 2 times faster that a stock board or V-35 board.

Good luck

Yeah but think about me here in Nz, no Select fire modes allowed. No ramping, no auto, no burst. Just straight semi, and I want to get the most out of my fingers that I can without ramping etc.
If getting it flashed to version 7 seriously increases its intel speed, and eye logic then it might be worth it, Also intellifeeding is on my to-think-about list.
And the final thing is Opto vs. Microswitch, some like the feel of the microswitch, others stand strong by the opto. I'm not sure, I don' know any people who live near me with an Angel. Its all timmys, egos and shockers.

Is there a way to intellifeed the opto in an 5peed?
Jawa_nz
11-25-2006, 11:53 PM
I think so, I had a look at a pic with the intellikit PCB and it had two ports TADAO and STOCK. So I presume you can use the stock opto, or mabey its only the likes of the G7 or fly's etc.
Maniac20
11-26-2006, 04:30 PM
I saw that too, which grabbed my interest. But I have yet to see where I would connect that to the board itself.

11-27-2006, 01:41 AM
The stock speed boards did not have an i feed output. The G7 and Tadao boards did, you'd have to use one of those.

It's not the speed that I want intellifeed for, it's the fact that it would only feed what is needed and not put excess pressure on the balls in the stack (I've been having problems with my Reloader crushing balls).

The tadoa board or stock are you talking about? If the tadao they are 2 diff boards- SSC=04/05 speed/gat/06 speed FBS=g7/g7fly
i would suppose it would...then again i have a 05 speed not a g7. But the board might be diff cause the lcd screen??

... and not put excess pressure on the balls in the stack (I've been having problems with my Reloader crushing balls).
You running it with 6 or 4 cells? Also with upgraded boards you can adjust the motor tension too I believe (Mines just a stock halo).
Intelli's still rotate the cone just the same as the board, in effect its just replacing the eyes/ears with another activator/switch, so the board will behave exactly the same (intelli or otherwise) when it gets told to feed. Theres going to be pretty much the same amount of pressure on the balls as the normal board does. To my knowledge intellifeeding just puts your marker and your loader on the same page, so they are more in tune with each other and load when told to.
I'm not a big fan of the Reloaders anyways, I like my loader knowing where the balls are at all moments, rather than just knowing when it "hears" it.

I have 6 AA's in my Reloader.
What you're saying makes perfect sense, and that's what I thought at first. But then I heard someone mention that they could tune it to get just one ball fed per pull. I'm not sure of the truth to that, and I can't remember where I saw that. I do know that on a Tadao, there is an adjustment for the intellifeed, but I think (I could be wrong) that it is just for a delay after the trigger is pulled.

Ok, I have had my 5peed for several months now, and I have just plucked up the courage to 'check' the software version in my board. It appears that I have version 7, but would be most grateful if someone could kindly confirm this for me. I have listed the settings below, in order of pushing the interior button.
Top LED OFF: Top small LED lit I assume indicates software version 7.
Top LED RED Blinking: Trigger Offset with all 6 small LED's lit. PSP mode activated.
Top LED ORANGE Blinking: Loader type with 4 small LED's lit, indicating Fast Force Fed.
Top LED GREEN Blinking: Dwell. 3 small LED's indicating 9 milliseconds.
Top LED ALL Colors Cycling: With just 1 small LED illuminated indicating a MROF with eyes at 15bps.
I have a couple of questions;
In PSP mode, what do I actually get?
From the forum threads I have read, it appears that there are 3 standard shot's, and then it will ramp to a maximum of 15 BPS.
Can this 'ramping' at 15 BPS be increased using the ALL LED's flashing setting, to increase the MROF?
For tournament/walk-on play, if ramping is 'frowned upon', can I turn off the PSP mode?
How can I turn off PSP mode?
What function/ROF will I get if I turn it off?
I'm not used to finding my way around speed software, as I am used to using LCD display's like on my A4 and LCD Cobra (which looks like is heading state side thanks to Blister).
I'd greatly appreciate any reply's to this one. Cheers guy's.

It does look like you have version 7 installed.
I don't think you can ramp more than 15 bps, but I might be mistaken.
To turn PSP mode off, set the trigger offset value to something other than 6 leds lit. At that point, it will turn back into a trigger sensitivity setting, when all 6 are lit, the trigger is automatically dumbed down.
Your mrof with psp off will be determined by number of leds lit with all colors cycling.
Good luck!

Yes, my G7 Fly has a ramping mode. However, there have been upgrades come out for the software (I have the upgraded software) that some players need.
I do not own a Speed, but I know players that would like to get the ramping mode put on their guns. I know a few years back, you could get the ramping mode upgrade. It took the place of the Demo mode.
So, will the Angel Techs be at the CFOA events to take care of this for the players?

I just got my speed 06 board with psp mode++
It's something I don't quite understand tho.
When the big red light is flashing (ramping) , it's no different between 15 bps and 27 bps. But if I activate 30 bps the unlimited one, it ramp on 2 single shots.
How can I active it so it will ramp on 15 bps?
Thx for answers.

i believe i have version 7 software due to the fact that i have all the signs as described in this forum....when i go to the green blinking light, i light up all the led's; when i pull the trigger the marker clicks to 3 extra shots but that seems to be all.....so, how do i know if it will ramp up to 15? the marker doesnt continue to click, as it were? please advise....
Best way to know what software you have, remove grip panel, turn on marker, press internal button on board once. What LED's are lit on the back of the frame?
