i read about this on pbnation, if you use a staple to jumper the point between C8 and VR1 on your halo board, you bypass the voltage regulator and your §§§§ spins fast as hell. besides goin thru batteries faster, theyve also said it can damage your motor and your board. has anyone tried this yet?

search around for the PR or puerto rican mod too, some people use a wire instead of a staple

yea i know what it is obviously, so i dont need to search. my question is has anyone on here done it?

i've seen it done to a good amount of hoppers at the field and they all worked fine. But I suggest using a wire over the staple. It seems like everyone using the staple is the ones that had a problem, whereas we never had any problem with the wire one...

get a lot of motors
thats my suggestion

Be prepared to start replacing parts that blow up.

I bought me a Cheetah for a reason, y'all.

i was just about to say that. the staple mod will mess ur hopper up big time.

heck yes it will to.............. i took five min for it to fry my stock board, but if uf gonna go it i recommend adding a switch somewhere in the connection so u dont eat through batteries ALL the time

I've done it w/o any problems at all. I heard that you can't use 9v's though. If you use anything other than AA's you'll fry your stuff

Why is that... 2 9Vs and 6 AAs both provide the same voltage.

how fast would you say it feeds

if you wire it up right, if you wire it up wrong then your sending 18 volts where there should only be 9. remember this mod is bypassing the voltage regulator on the board. i dont think stock boards can handle anthing over 12v.

I know that on my E2, I have hit 18 bps w/ the staple mod...not in a burst, but over the course of a full second...on a drop test it hit somewhere between 23 and 25 bps.

I think part of the reason it fries it w/ 9v's is because of amperage...I'm not an electrical engineer or anything, but I think the amp put out is different between the AA's and 9v's.

The mod will bypass the stock voltage regulator (There is a FET mod that allows more current to be applied to the motor, do the research) an apply 9V (1.5 X 6AAs) directly to the motor. This is why I suggest at least replacing the motor.

As far as the quote saying 9V batteries putting out more amps, well put it like this: the 9V is capable of suppliing more current than a AA, but this is related to total power consumption. I see no problems using a 9V over a AA set, but make sure the voltage stays the same with whatever mod you are using.

As far as the bypass of the voltage regulator mod goes, if done right it should be fine. As long as you be aware of the components that are likely to fail (replace).

umm................idk if 2 9Vs and 6 AAs provide the same voltage. im not that great in math but i do know that 9*2=18 and 1.5*6=9. those are definately not the same voltage

Two 9V batteries in Parrallel is equal to 9V. If they are placed in Series it will be 18V. The AAs are always placed in series and that provides 9V (otherwise a Parrellel combo would be 1.5V). Make sense playas??
