Alright so here is my story:
I have owned angels for many years and am very experienced with teching, restoring, and repairing angels, so i know my way around angels.
My back up marker, my ir3, i noticed had a tiny leak from the solenoid. I just thought it might be a leaky manifold oring and would be an easy fix, so i lubed it up, but the small leak was still there. Then i thought that it might be the oring in between the soleoid and the manifold plate. So i lubed that and put everything back together properly and the solenoid seemed to leak even more.
I examined that oring a little more and saw that the holes in the oring that the air passes through were a little warped so i went and ordered another oring from FMA, (these things are $7 a piece :dodgy: ....).
Once i received the oring, i greased it up and made sure everything else was greased and put everything back together. The leak was still there. I tried to think of every possible reason why the solenoid would still leak. I ended up lubing the whole solenoid and the rest of the gun.
I checked the lpr pressure to make sure that it wasnt an under pressurizing problem and i made sure everything else was set, so that i could diagnose the problem better. It was still leaking......
Also, i have a speed ram/hammer assembly in it that has worked flawlessly in my ir3, i think that when i last greased up the orings on it that the middle oring on the ram is sealing one of the holes in the solenoid so as to not allow the solenoid to pull the hammer back.
I have noticed that the seal in between the manifold and solenoid tends to spread out when i gas it up, i have tried different amounts of tightening the solenoid screws to fix this but it doesnt seem to work.
Before anyone asks:
1. I put back the solenoid correctly.
&
2. I am pretty positive that it is leaking from one of the two seals surrounding the manifold, so i dont think its a bad solenoid, i think its a sealing problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Eric
