Palm Os Versions

I've been hearing different things about which palm versions work with the IR software. I'm curious if PALM OS 4.7 will run the software ok on a Sony Clie handheld? This handheld runs on the palm os 4.7 software and currently is on sale so I was hoping to pick one up.


My work supplied me with my own handheld but unfortunately the software doesn't work on it.

I believe that yes some people have used and said the Sony Clie does run the Palm Software for the IR3 okay.....you should be good to go if you choose to purchse that PDA.

I have a Tungsten T w/5.0 and it is not compatible. Is there anything in the works to make it compatible or am I just out of luck?

not with that model no, Even Bill Mills's review on WARPIG specifically says it's not compatible, and I believe if you read the tech information on the WDP site for the Palm software it also says so. Supposedly they were working on something that would make it compatible, but we've not heard anything else about it so I :dunno:

WHen you say "not with that model" do you mean the 5.0 format or the Tungsten? Because I just bought a Sony Clie that has 5.1 and I just assumed that if it worked for 4.0 then it should work for newer versions. I haven't tried to download the software yet. I will be totally bummed if it doesn't work! :angry: :doh:

2theMaxx......your model is fine, various other members have used the Sony Clie, however the Tungsten model that redneck was asking about supposedly has had some problems
