Intro/Out of the Box
I ordered my board for my Angel 4 Fly Wednesday, November 16 around 4pm EST. I received it today. It was here waiting in the mailbox for me when I got home from school.
The box seemed really light; almost like nothing was in it. I opened and inside was a Static Shield Bag surrounded by the little foam packaging things. I opened up the bag and there it was. My fancy new Angel FBS Tadao Board. I was surprised the board was white instead of green like in the pictures. It made me feel special. I guess all the new Tadao M7 software based boards are on white boards. And printed right on the front of the board was Angel Force. I guess for most people it's good to know the board is backed by Angel Force. Meh... Still I would like to have free upgrades for life like Bob Sandifier, TAG, offers in his Predator boards.

Installation
Prior to trying to install this board, I figured installation would be easy. I have completely rebuilt my Fly a couple of times before and have a very good understanding of the marker. However, after I began attempting to install it I realized the stock board screws were way too long and would not secure the Tadao FBS Board properly. And I could not screw the screws in further because the grips prevented it. I was dissapointed that Angel Force or Tadao did not include the proper length screws with this board. After all the screws were only $0.15 a piece. So ya, I was dissapointed. But I had to use the board so I rode my bike to the Hardware store about 5 minutes away. I brought one stock board screw. Asked the friendly employee about the screw and he willingly helped me out. I found out the screws needed for the Tadao FBS board were 3mm Metric screws that were about half the length of the stock board screws.

Once I got the proper screws, installation was a breeze. I do think; however, that installation for most people who don't have a good understanding of their marker would have some difficulty with installing it.

Installation is as follows:
1. Degass your marker completely.

2. Put your marker on its left side, so the right side or the side with the LCD is facing you.

3. Unscrew and put aside the 3 grip screws on that side.

http://www.smartcollecting.com/paintball/images/pb-tadaofbs-4.jpg

5. Use an allen key to back out your TOE adjustment to leave room so that the board and leaf spring cane be pulled out easily. Note: this isn't necessary. I got around this step by carefully retracting the leaf spring as I was pulling out the board.

4. Carefully unplug the 3 connections in the board. These connections should include the Eye Ribbon, the Battery Harness, and the Solenoid Harness. I have a small fine tipped tool that I used to carefully pry the connections out of the board.

5. Unscrew the 2 screws securing the board to the frame. Put these screws and the two circular washer type things aside.

6. Carefully pull the board out from the grip frame. Make sure the buttons and LED window don't fall out of the grip frame.

http://www.smartcollecting.com/paintball/images/pb-tadaofbs-6.jpg

7. Place the Tadao FBS board inside the grip frame.

8. Secure the board by screwing in two 3mm Metric screws about half the length of the stock board screws through the two holes in the board into the two holes in the grip frame.

9. Carefully plug in the Eye Harness (avoid pushing to hard and bending it), Solenoid Harness, and Battery Harness.

http://www.smartcollecting.com/paintball/images/pb-tadaofbs-8.jpg

10. I would leave the grip frames off for readjusting your TOE adjustment. I like to be able to see the switch when I am adjusting the TOE.

11. After you have readjusted the TOE, close up the grip frame with the grips, and screw the grip screws back into the grip frame.

Programming
One thing that bothered me was that Tadao/Angel Force did not bother to include a manual with the board explaining the installation and programming processes. But that's what we have the Angel Owners Group for. Lol. I logged on AOG and went into this forum and downloaded the Manual.

Once I had the manual, I was surprised how easy it was to program the board. I was very used to using an LCD for programming. But Tadao really makes it straightforward and simple when programming.

I played around with a lot of the settings. Specifically Debounce, Modes, Gangster Mode, AMB, CPF. I really like CPF. It is such a great feature. It really helps in eliminated bounce caused by the microswitch. I found there to be a decent amount of bounce even with a debounce of 5 or over. I fixed this by adjusting the CPF and AMB.

Right now I am using these settings:
Debounce - 6
Dwell - 8
Loader Delay - 1
AMB - 2
ABS Dwell - 1
Fire Mode - 1
Eye Mode - 1
CPF - 3
Gangster Mode - 4

I am using an Evolve Newton Valve Kit so it shoots fine w/ a Dwell of 8. Gangster Mode is a lot of fun. Also I like being able to change the color scheme settings. I still have to tune and adjust my Fly more. I ran out of air. I was dryfiring most of the time and then when I had only a little left I went through a pod in Gangster Mode. Fast. Fun. But illegal. Lol.

Overall
Overall. I like the board a lot. In a 1 out of 10 scale. I think I will have to give it an 9. Nothing to me really gets a 10 out of 10 unless it like makes me piss my pants. Lol. I was dissapointed it didn't come with a manual or proper length board screws. But that got resolved so I bump my rating up to a 9. If it used a 9v battery, some other small software enhancements, and if it was a little cheaper it would be a 10.

Even though I rated it an 8. It is still a great upgrade. It is like a totally new engine for you gun. Makes it so much nicer. So much smoother. Programming is easy with the help of the manual. And it is mega fast and owns my lp3.5 stock Angel 4 Fly board. Haha.

sorry, we posted in the other thread that the screws and manuals were forgotten on a handful of boards as eric and sean were trying to get them out as fast as possiable. all the screws and manuals were shipped as soon as the mistake was noticed .

on a second note, we did not want to run the board on a 9 volt as this cheapens the high end gun. the stock battery will give you near 80,000 shots per full recharge.

Ya, Ken, I saw the other thread. I am impressed how you guys are handling the situation. So I will bump the socre up to a 9. Also I know why you used the stock battery but I don't know, I guess I just like the convenience of 9v batteries. But I have to agree with you, the stock Angel battery holds its charge for a heck of a long time. I have owned my Fly for over a year now and it has been great. Only things I don't like about it, is the sloppiness of the stock trigger and the fricken rollback problem. I made my own trigger which I don't have on my gun right now because I broke it drilling a new hole for a magnet. I made it out of delrin.

Hmmm... I have one question now, Ken or Eric or whoever can answer. When I turn on the gun it boots normally and since I set the Eyes on color to red i see a solid red light. Which should mean there is a ball in the breech, correct? I don't have anything blocking the breech and it still does that. I am using Eye Delay Mode. It did the same for Eye Force mode too. So then after I pull the trigger once, a yellow slow blinking light appears which should mean eye failure. But the eyes are on. I know because I have laser eyes. And I can shoot; everytime I pull the trigger (mind there is no paint in the gun and it is degassed) it shoots. I checked the eye ribbon, it looks fine. And I have cleaned the eyes twice. The slow yellow blinking light persists.

ok push and hold the inside button and do a factory reset and re try i also suggest that you leave the colors stock until you learn them as it will really foul you up if a setting gets messed up. it may be just me but i found that to be the best way

Ya, the white boards are sweet.

Ken, no that didn't work either. I just tried resetting it again. Unplugging everything and the plugging everything back in again. And resetting it again. Nothing is working.

To try to explain it better. The yellow is really an orange but I just assumed it is a "yellow" because according to the manual it is because there is no orange led light and it is in all the yellow led light places.

It acts in eyes on mode similar to how it acts w/ eyes off. In eyes on, the solid blue light appears after the board is booted. I hit the trigger once, a slow blinking orange or "yellow" light appears. The light is conistant and is not affected by trigger pulls and the laser eyes are on. In eye off mode, the laser eyes turn off. And then a slow red blinking light appears. It is the same speed as the slow yellow light in eyes on mode. But in eyes off mode, each time I pull the trigger, a yellow light blinks once.

ok thats an indication that their is an eye malfunction. lets do this, install the stock board hanging out the frame and testing the eyes again

Woah, I was just doing that as I checked here and you said to do the same thing.

They eyes work fine with the stock board. It doesn't shoot when the eyes are on unless I put a paintball or my finger in the breech. And it shoots when the eyes are off. So it seems like the eyes are working fine which was indicated also by the laser eyes being on. It looks like the board just isn't interpretting the data from the eye correctly.

The same thing happens with my board. Boots up to solid blue, then blinks orange/yellow once I pull the trigger once.

Program Reset
To reset all settings to factory defaults, hold down the lock button for 10 seconds while in programming mode. The LED will rapidly cycle through every setting color to indicate that the process has completed.

please follow this and re try make sure the tournement lock is disabled

Programming
The tournament lock must be disabled in order to change settings on the board. The push button switch on the lower right side of the board toggles the tournament lock. While the marker is turned on and in the normal firing mode (eyes on or off) push and hold the lock button. The LED will flash a red/green sequence, ending with either red or green to indicate the status of the lock. Red means the lock is on, while green means the lock is off. While the lock and the marker are off, pull and hold the trigger, then flip the power switch. The marker will boot into programming mode, showing a rainbow sequence before stopping at solid green. Programming mode can be exited by turning the marker off.

Pulling and releasing the trigger quickly will toggle between the different programming

looks like will might have just had a bad or intermittant set of eyes. between 5 or so phone calls it has been determined thats where the trouble lies. i am overnighting him some to test the theory.

also i want it known i deleted about 6 or so posts where member lrpntball
posted he was having issues. we think that we determined his problem and the posts i deleted were our back and forth attempts at solving it. i just dont want anyone thinking we were deleting any issues but was looking bto keep the thread clean.will(rpntball)
will post on how his issue is after he gets the new eye ribbon weds..

Well there's no reason to be discouraged, we know that the board design theory works. However there are always going to be variables that the retailer/distributor cannot control. Be it user error, hardware failure or just bad luck.

That's why we created AOG, in an effort to eliminate these problems.

Tadao has also been around for a while and have a track record of quality stuff. So does the master techs. This will be bought as soon as I get the money to get a angel first.

Man, just dropped mine in. SOOO Easy!!! As easy as changing a light bulb. The programming in uber easy.

As previously mentioned, it suck when I pulled my trigger and no intellifeed motion (I was hoping on some fluke lol), but I am working on that problem.
