ok..today and a couple of days ago I put a friends halo on my angel, and the first 2 shots were out of the barrel normally, but just after that it dropped like a bat outta hell like im talken 10 feet outta the barrel then it shot back up once then drops again...so I put on a egg and shot fine as can be and my revy as well and the same thing..shot fine so I wanna know whats ups with that??? I got a good detent. but im wonderin if the balls in the halo r pushin on the bolt and makin it slower??
thanks

but I havent chopped just massive shoot down
I'm having the "shootdown + 1 and a quarter ball in the chamber" problem. I've read about this countless times, and still have found no fix, without taking apart my halo. Bought a cobra detent, still a problem. I'll paypal 15$ to the first person that fixes my problem.

oil teh crap out of teh belts, or get an evo 2
halos feed hella fast if your only shooting like 8 bps
I'm trying to solve the halo problem. I'm trying to find a fix that actually FIXES the problem. buying a new hopper would defeat the purpose.

Maybe you should try the EVOII and see how it is. It might make a difference.

I agree with crashdan..oil or grease the belts or somehow make the belts slip so it doesn't "force" the balls pass your detent as much.

ok....I dont think u guys r getting the idea.....I did put the EVOII on it and shot fine but when I tried the Halo it dropped the FPS extremely!, I didnt have double feeding or breaking of paint, just that it shot out of the ball only like 10 feet, when I put on my revy and tried the EVOII it shot fine so what could be the prob then?

I figured it out! Halos don't work in Canada! Pay up Eclipse! hehe j/k We shall ponder some more to solve your problem.

Could it be that there is always and extra ball in the barrel? The same problem existed with my team mate's Angel/new Halo. I took it apart and greased the belt and she screams like a wildcat now... I dunno....
I just greased my belt, and adjusted the POT level on my halo B. Hopefully it will fix my problem. The POT sensor adjusts the eye's sensitivity to ball movement. I can tell you how to do it if you'd like, it's what an Oddysey tech recommended.

Halos put more than one ball in the breach as skeletar said. get a better ball detent. because the balls are being forced over it by the halo. it happened to me too so i got the system x ball detent and mine gun shoots better then ever

the problem with the halo putting more than one ball down the breech isn't the ball detent or the belt slippage...
it is because it is one of these two reasons but the first reason causes the second reason..
1. the halo is either too high or too low.. either raise it half a ball or lower it half a ball.
2. the eye doesn't "see" the ball because it is not aligned properly.. it is seeing between the balls therefore thinking it does not have a ball and tries to push it through... raising the halo or lowering it half a ball will solve your problem.
Look down the breech from the front with the air off and the barrel off.. if you see a lot of the top ball then it is not aligned properly.
The height of the halo depends on the size of the ball.. so there isn't one universal height.
This isn't a problem with the angel nor the halo.. it is the technology of the halo (force feeding) and the size of the ball.

I tend to think your observations are correct. Sometimes you hear the hopper trying to feed, even when you are not shooting. This would be attributed to the problem you mentioned and/or "dirty eyes". And, greasing is a way of protection against "overdriving" of the mechanism when it doesn't see the ball....or the balls were of a color not recommended.

The HALO is putting excess pressure on the bolt when it shoots, by forcing the ball on it. It will slow the bolt speed down alot......
