yes!!! my g7-fly is choping balls and breaking ball in the barrel...can anyone tell me the list of what could i fix or do to make it not do those both. i think maybe it's the ball size, the quality of the paint, and the barrel size.but internaly, is there anything i can do to make it not do those both? tnx for all the help guys..

Try setting ure dwell higher, I see in ure sig u have a barrel kit, to make sure the ball is the right size put a ball in the barrel and blow on the barrel, the ball should come out "clean" it shouldnt roll out by itself and it shouldnt get stuck, there are more advanced settings im not familiar w/, hopefully someone will post on those :notsure:

barrel breaks sounds like barrel is too small..

chopping ?? maybe your loader settings are too high ? try doing the "eye-test" if that passes.. well then it has to be that you need to lower loader settings a bit ? ..

ive run .. 6-7 cases thru my Fly now.. and not a single chop.. but i had some barrel breaks due to balls being too big for the stock bore barrel size..

quite annoying i might add :P

hey fred i just shot mine yesterday and i was having lots of chops too; it was mainly the paint, it was really brittle. Then i just put in some toxic and it worked fine; only a couple chops here and there, but someone said u should only use pretty good quality paint for the first 3000 or something like that shots to break it in so yeah

DAMN, is this a joke whats with all these damn chops w/ G7 fly's after u used good paint there was "only a couple of chope here and there" you should have like none, somethings definetally wrong w/ this picture...

they were probably barrel breaks at the end i dunno, but i was chopping earlier in the day cuz the paint was soooo brittle but then i switched to better paint and it worked fine

i dont get it either.. i havent had a single chop, and the brittle paint.. i had my halo crush some super brittle thin shelled paint "cyclone" in cold weather.. thats about it.. meaning when i took halo off to see what was going on.. the paint was already cracked in the feed neck, so it wasnt chops at all..

i used the settings ken crane recommended so i dont see why you cant seem to understand it was probably the paint

No lol we arent doubting what u are saying just wondering why the allmighty G7 fly was chopping, we understand the brittle paint makes u chop but u said even w/ good paint there were "a few chops here and there" with good paint there should be like NONE, but if they were barrel breaks thats understandable, just need a kit :patriot:

yap!!! it was the pour quality of paint....then something else happen..so i sent to ken to fix it.

the problem was..when i walk the triger, it only fires one's for about 6 to 8th pull of the trigger...and this is when the eye is on...but when the eye is off, no problem..so i thought maybe the eye is dirty..and so i cleaned it.and the same issue after. then i put the eye from my g7fly to my speed-05 and my speed had no problem when the eye is on...no problem. i think maybe it's the board got missed-up or something....this is weird. well, i sent it to Ken and i hope he'll fix it..i'm sure it's the board. good thing i have a back up gun.

Okay, I have 2 G7 flys and a G7

Both G7 Flys chop bad when you run them up. The G7 does not?

Same hopper and same paint.
I have Cp barrel kits for both, I even tried using a very loose ball fit just to see.
Then I took the barrel off and shot them without it and still chopped.
Both passsed the eye test and I have ran the dwell all over the place.

I have used both empire and eggs on the with the same results at different speeds.

My regular G7 does not chop at all with all the factory setting and I am pushing it to 19 BPS.
It's almost as if the bolt is hitting the ball too hard and the air is not there to push it away from the bolt first?
What gives???

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i had the same problem. i solved it by putting my dwell at 12

Had the dwell all the way to 14 with the same results?

Please look at the cold weather tips section that we added just for this kind of issue that poeple have when the weather gets cold and the paint gets fragile. Adjusting dwell will not help.

I just got through talking to the Uk and they seem to think it is the loader speed so I am going to try that, they say that 16 is too high and to set to 8 or 12.

I'm not sure why but I will try it and let you know

I'm in Arizona - What cold weather? It's 70 degrees righ now.

But thanks

I'm not sure why but I will try it and let you knowThat does makes sense. If you lower the loader speed setting, it gives the ball more time to fully get in place before the bolt moves it forward and that is what helps reduce chopping. It is also called the Ball In Place (BIP) setting.

Every loader and every gun is slightly different so you may need to find the settings that work for what you have.

But what I don't understand is what changed between the G7 and the G7 Fly?
Like I said I have both and I have the hopper setting on the G7 all the way up. If I run my Empire B all the way up to the fastest setting it just chops worse?

I guess it is not so much that I just want to fix the problem but I have this thing about wanting to know why it is happening. I know they added the trigger offset but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

The BIP does make sense if the balls are bouncing in the breach.
I have had the balls break shooting slow as well on both of the G7 Flys so it does concern me. I am sure it is adjustments and I have just not found the right ones yet. Angels are the greatest thing since apple pie and I would not give them up but it is driving me crazy.

Well guys I took all the advise and it worked.
I set the hopper speed to 12 and the Dwell to 10 and the G7 Fly's just ripped!!! I tried 4 different kinds of paint and ran about 4000 rounds through each marker with different hoppers. They both shot fine and I pushed them as fast as I could without bouncing them which ended up at about 19 to 22 BPS.

It was great, thanks again for the help
