Ok guys here is the deal with my bolt. The bolt WILL fit the IR3 and the LCD. The grove is for the sensor in the IR3 obviously, other than that it is still the same as an LCD. The bolts are a three piece design, an aluminum insert(anodized 5 colors) Red, Black, Blue, Silver, and Gold. The delrin is avaiable in black and white, so in total there are 10 different color combinations. The pin is hardened Stainless Steel. The pin is press fitted in to lock all the pieces together, just like a stock bolt but with out the insert. Try takin the pin out of your stock bolt, it's pretty tough, so you don't need to worry about the insert coming out. Upon first testing velocity was increased 15-25 fps. Some people have said they have had higher increases, but every gun is different. This isn't a piece of §§§§, it won't break in half like other bolts made of polycarbonate and it won't swell up with the humidity like Nylon 6,6 bolts. I hope all of you have a chance to shoot one and see how it works. I think you'll like it.

I have one of these lovely bolts. I had my lpr at just under 100, my reg screw dangling out (has suggested by Ken), and my AIR at about 550 this would give me 290-300 fps with the stock bolt. I put the R 11 in and was shooting consistently 305-310. I dropped the input down around 500 on the air (which shouldn't make a difference in a double reg system) and was at 290 on the dot. I took 10 shots 290, 289, 287, 290, 290, 286, 289, 290, 287, and 290. I am gonna try gutting the reg and go lower on the AIR input, and I will let you know what I get. The thing I noticed most was the consistency not the gain in fps. Thanks again Warped.

Everyone,

I just talked to one of the guys at Warped Sportz and they said they will not be putting up a booth at the cup. There will be a booth called CCM products. These guys are also with WORKS products, the ones who make the WORKS and J2 autocokers. they will be carring my bolts. Also if there is a chance and I'm not busy with playing or getting ready for a game try to find me at the Avalanche tent. I will have some there with me to sell, but otherwise I might tell you which booths you will be able to find them at.

i belive i actuially have one of theese bolts, its white with red aluminum insert and the steel pin, unless someone else is making them i got it from cape cod

`edit` i just looked ta the pic and yes its the same one, how ever i didnt see any velocity boosts or better consistancy, i switched back and forth over the chrony ten ballas apeice and i didnt see any differnce what so ever sorry:lost:

Eric Roberts
10-11-2002, 02:19 PM
you're the first person to not notice a change. what kind of bolt were you running before? you should notice a change vs. a STOCK bolt.

dansim
10-11-2002, 03:12 PM
the stock bolt , i was having some majopr chopping issues and i thought it may have been the bolt(r11) so after chroning in i switched bolts, back to the stock(remembering ken said 30+fps) and low and behold it was pretty much the same velocity+or-3, but my chopping problem was still there so it wasnt the bolts fault im thinking it my have been the new halo, after the tourney i did some test and there wasnt any change besides my velocity jumping up and down anyway between 290-275 that was with the stock bolt , and then switching to the R11, it was prtty much the same, maybe i just got a bad bolt oh well im trading it anywho

Howitzer11
10-11-2002, 03:40 PM
The bolt you got at Cape Cod is not the R11 it is made by someone else. If you don't believe just ask Ken. I was there when he got those I think they were from someone fairly local. Trust me an IR3 running at the same input and lpr with just switching to the R11 it is a minimum of 10 fps gain. I got mine from Jeremy at Warped. Got a sweet deal too.

I know this is just a little late for this but I've got one of these in my Dark IR3 and love it. Only got about a 15 FPS increase. I did notice a big increase in shot to shot stability though. My gun is on its way back to Warped at the moment seeing as how my C.O.P.S. sensor decided to go south on me last weekend. Just hope the bolt had nothing to do with it.

you'll have to call the various warped stores. some of the stores have the same colors others have different. from here on out i will only be making black delrin with three colors to choose from for the inserts, blue, red, and silver. It's easier to fill orders and produce them fast enough to fill the demand.

Emmit
11-24-2002, 07:17 PM
Sano

I've been using one in my IR3 and I've been getting */- 2 fps usually over the Chrono....any increase over the stock bolt I'm unsure of as I have not done any comparisons.

NBR
12-03-2002, 01:16 PM
I've been using the WDP white bolt and switched to the R11... Noticed no change
Same settings
500 psi output on A.I.R
293fps +/- 3fps

I did notice the difference between stock and the WDP white bolt though... lower operating pressure.. which is no bad thing...

I will be running with the R11 though coz it feels lighter than the WDP white bolt.. so i feel it will do less internal damage, ( some Angel tech said it will wear out the ram quicker? ).

Waiting to be corrected....

i have had my white delrin/red Al r11 bolt for almost 3 weeks now. i got it at warped sportz in merillville,IN. i love this bolt soo much. i get +/- 3 over the chrono and my velocity went reasonably higher. it was at a constant 290 or so with the stock bolt and went up to 320 just by putting the r11 in. the only thing i dont like about this bolt is that the face is a bit flatter. it doesnt tend to "cup" the ball. just kinda touches the aluminum insert. it would have been nicer if the ball actually sat in it. i beleive this is less harsh on paint because of a more even distribution of bolt force on the ball. i say this because when using diablo SECONDS(paint of choice cuz $30 a case) i get a ball break a quarter way down the barrel every now and then. now it could be the r11 bolt not cupping the ball properly or it could just be the crappy stock detent or even just the bad paint. heck even a combo of all 3.

Hey Eric. I just bought bought one of Travis' guns. the pewter to black and I was wondering why he diddnt have a r11 bolt in there since they are claimed by you a member of Avalance and not used by Travis. Thanks man...

Emmit
01-15-2003, 03:00 PM
perhaps he wanted to keep the bolt? perhaps not ALL members of Avalanche are using them? It seems that if you purchased someones marker instead of asking the manufacturer of an item why it didn't come on a used marker that you might want to ask the person you bought it from. I'm sure that there are multiple reasons why someone might have kept something, and since the R-11 isn't a stock item the gun didn't come with it when it was made so why wouldn't someone keep an aftermarket part for future use???? Just some beans to think about

So what's the word on how the r11 compares to the Cobra bolt? I already have a Cobra bolt, and I'm wondering if I should retire it and try the r11, but I don't really want to waste $30 if the r11 isn't much better than the Cobra bolt I already have.

acoenfam1
02-24-2003, 12:56 PM
From everything I've read they are pretty much the same. Both seem to have a better "flow though" than stock and hence give some velocity increase/lower pressure operation. Consistency for both seems to be in the +/- 2 or 3 fps range.

So it comes down to what you want but I would keep your Cobra. After all if it works don't fix it.

Eric,

Two suggestions for your bolt.

1. Round the edge around the face of the bolt to help prevent facturing paintballs.

2. Add a groove for the detent.

yo i bought the R11 bolt as soon as i got my dark ir3.... the gun came in, i didn't even use the stock bolt.... i threw the R11 in and it was shooting so tight!!!!!! when i chronoed it, i had my bad boy shooting at like 320 with the Angel AIR set at like 650... it was nuts, so i droped the velocity on my spiral reg and a bit on my AIR and i couldn't believe it! My buddy on a local team around my area has an Adrenalin Angel and when he shot it, he even said it's more accurate than his... and Angel guys don't admit that about their Angels you know this... hehe. so when playing, I was getting the best one ball, sweet spot elminations and snap shots like crazy.... With this R11 bolt, My Dark IR3 just blew away any gun that I've used before... Before I was using a Diablo Matrix and am selling it now as we speak so i can get another Dark IR3, R11 combo... THat's how intense it is... i will never shoot anything else.. plus warped sportz has the best customer service and are the greaest peope to work with. There's your review... The R11 bolt basically gogges any s#!##^ comments about Angels. It is THE MOST accurat gun I've used... It was sper gas efficient, and the bolt made sure that when i achieved high rates of fie, that there wasn't one ball drop due to not recharging quick enough. It is just amazing! The first day of using it (gun with bolt), i was able to snap shoot someone from my mirror that was their backmost bunker in like 2 tries. Next time uing it, I dropped like half the team of Pro team Lockout in no time, like sweet spoted 2 off the break, snapped 2 annd did crazy stuff with it. Oh dd i mention that I've yet to break a ball? and my COPS2 was off i believe. I love it, its my baby, i tuck that thing to bed with me... just get the R11 bolt! You'll understand. Thanks for making a thread i was going to make one liek... today for this bolt...

DasBaldDog
04-05-2003, 10:11 AM
No, that a problem?

Emmit
04-05-2003, 10:54 AM
yep.......

in the simplest terms.....it's kinda like a Cocker that's out of time (no I know there isn't any timing in an Angel).....when it's not adjusted right it chops like crazy.....same thing here, if you don't adjust your ram stroke properly after putting a new bolt in it you may have problems......

Thanks guys for all the support, I wanted to make a bolt that would out perform any other on the market. I think succeeded. The only thing is now I work for DYE and the R11 line has dropped off. Maybe soon it will revive. And now with the release of the SPEED, the bolt looks a lot like the one I designed, kind of weird don't you think? Shows you people will steal your ideas no matter who you are and what relationship you had in the past with the company. (it was a good one, I hope it stays good too) But be careful and watch your ass.
