maybe you should add a simple line to the submit pages that has a small check box, that it says" did you use the search function before posting?" with a check box...maybe, but its just an idea

That is a good idea. Once Matt is back on, I'm sure he can check into the feasibility of doing something like that.

hey thanx for teh good feedback, maybe tell people when tehy first sign up to search for previous posts, becuase i personally did not know there was asearch function before i saw some person get reamed a new one

searching is a good tool to have, but you cant keep people from making new posts for not using it. If we didnt allow new posts because a similar post already existed then the forums would come to a stand still. There would never be any new posts. The search engine isnt perfect either, sometimes it doesnt always find what your looking for.
