I've heard that there's 400-500 balloons.

yeah thats pretty cool. dont see many of the hot air balloons around TN.
The dinosaur looking balloon is from Lake Norman, North Carolina. So there must be some around there too.

Went for a ride in one once, but there were only 4-5 in the air at the time, nothing like that.
It's cool how quiet it is, we were just cruising 30 feet above people's back yards in Temecula, CA at one point. Every dog that saw us was going nuts.

That's how you know the balloons are up around here. You hear the neighborhood dogs barking. That and you know they fly almost every day at daylight.
I parachuted once and the sensation of absolute calm and quiet is just like you describe (after the shoot opens) so I know what you mean. But then I landed in the power lines and I have absolutely no interest of ever doing it again.
