I had to post this guys as I am impressed. My brand new JD G7 was having terrible shoot down out of the box. I mean after you got on the trigger the balls literally fell at my feet. Now here is the great thing...I did some research on here and found my answer.
CHARGE THE BATTERY. My battery was low..actually died on my last attempt. While researching the shoot down and getting sick to my stomach, I came across a post about a low battery affecting your selenoid function. SO I charged the battery and BAM, shooting darts down field...all the way down field.
So new owners....make sure your battery is charged if you are having shoot down problems.
And thanks to whoevers post I read leading me this way.
Woohoo search works!

Not to beat a dead horse here but... in the manual it clearly states that you should give your marker a full, 4 hour charge, prior to the initial use.

By all means, beat the horse man. I was stupid enough to forget that. I read my manual, but it just didn't register. Odds are someone else will do just like me. .

Not knocking you but charging on the way to the field depends on how far you live from the field. The manual does state an hour long charge will give about 40k shots. However those living 10 -20 minutes from the field and only giving that charge to their marker on a regular basis may not "officially" harm NiMH battery but based on experience they are not doing anything to extend the life from the bare minimum. I prefer waiting until I get about 1 bar left and giving a full charge from there instead of those 1hour charges.

The players it happened to bought their guns used and charged on the way to the field, which was about a 20 minute drive and their guns went dead after a few games.....like i said i always charge mine the night before ........................but my first 2k2 lcd i bought used i tried to charge with the gun off :stooges: ...so i'm just as guilty :clown:

I do the same. The battery last a long time. Most Angels I've owned I've only had to charge the battery 3 or 4 times a year.

I say when I doubt, just charge the battery. If that doesn't fix the prob, THEN start looking at other possible causes. I just got my JALO back from Jim and couldn't figure out why it was soooo slow. When I sent it in, I could just rip, but now.....
Well low and behold, I changed the batteries and gave it a quick charge.....RIPPIN!!!!!
