they say its going to be worse than katrinaPossibly but probably along the lines of CYA for the officials. See how they are starting evacuations and making big time plans. Not that the preparations are a bad thing but since there's so much negative press about the lack of official organization before and after Katrina they are making this one stand out in how well they are planning the for possible emergency.

at this point people really can't even get out if they wanted to...traffic is so bad it's unbelievable. Gas stations are out of gas, water's all gone...most people are at the point where they are accepting of the fact that they will simply have to ride it out.

I talked to Emmit about 2 hours ago and he's just gonna stick it out. He told me his local (North West side of Houston) is far enough away from the flood zone. Also said had plenty of supplies on hand to wait it out and only a few instances of the power just flickering off so far.
Again Good Luck Bro and check with you on saturday if youre reading this.
Later,

Just got off the phone with Emmit (cell towers are still up) and they are all good and safe without the exception of power. Lost power in the early morning hours but still got running water and other than that hes alright. No beer though, so I feel for him now. he he. I will have a beer for you bro.

good to know that he's safe, from what i've seen so far, i think the damage was less than expected, which is good. definately nothing compared to katrina.

i could be wrong though as i havent followed it all that much

power came back on today...means a real shower and real food is due.

PBJ for lunch yesterday and tuna sandwiches for dinner last night.

Power was my main concern. Yesterday there was reports of some half million people without power, it seems that it's starting to come back for some so that's good.

Of course you were worried about power more than flooding. You're used to being under water. :moon:
Now enjoy a hot meal, glad it didn't hit you bad.

I've already had a bowl of microwaved Easy mac, a bowl of Queso and chips, and tonight I'm eating Tuna casserole. I've got my 3rd load of laundry going, and let me tell you...I'm on the 3rd or 4th ice cold coke, a hot shower this morning felt great, and the A/C feels even better ;)

Nothing makes more sense than guys with guns drinking alcohol...

on a separate note, do you get to upload larger files than such a commoner as I? Every time I try to upload a file over a few KB, or if I tried to upload a file as big as the one you just posted, I can't do it.
