i recently got a 05 speed, the first problem i am having with it is that its leaking a small ammount out of the ram area.... how do i adjust this i have read a little on it... what are you looking to accomplish when u hear the clicking when u close the breech? and second i am running a hp tank can i get the velocity down..? i havent had the chance to chrono it but it seems damn fast... can i do anything without having to spend money on it...? any help would be greatly appriciated. thanks.

just a backyard hack here but it sounds like you are overpresurizing the system.
try getting your input pressure to about 450psi .to do this you need a adjustable tank reg or lp fixed reg tank . borrow somebodys gas your gun and see if leak stops if not that is what the warrenty is for .

First, it's a LP system so it's designed to operate with low pressure. You can run HP but you'll have to run a search here to find out how.

Second, adjusting your ram is not to stop air leaks. I'll post a link below that includes adjusting your ram. There is a widespread theory here that adjusting your ram on the speed 05 is necessary to prevent chopping. Ken Crane says it's not necessary on a speed 05 to adjust your ram to prevent chopping because it won't cause chopping on a speed. You can go with the majority opinion on this one or you can go with one expert opinion (Ken's). I have had occasional air leakage from the back end of the ram (the end facing you when you hold the marker by the grip). I've even heard at least one person here suggest it's normal but I can't say. In my case, I noticed the leakage when I had the back plate off. I put the back plate on, gassed up the marker, fired it a few times and either the leak went away or it was so low I didn't notice. (My advice, unless it's a huge drain on your air tank, don't worry about it, I think it will stop over time.)

You must only use an LP air system on the speed 05 (around 450 psi) if you are using hp setup (around 850psi) it will cause loads of problems and will lead to you damaging your gun. You will need to change the regulator (or get it adjusted) on your cylinder, nothing needs changing on your gun.

If you search around here, you'll find at least a thread on how to run HP air. If you don't do anything (and I've never tried to do what you're doing) my guess is you'll have trouble with your velocity.

Speeds are designed to run on lp tanks so i would recommend buying a lp tank. If not you're going to run into loads of problems. Good luck
