you can go down to 7 milliseconds i think (one green light), but the gun will be less tolerant of cheap paint and theres a higher probability of breaking paint. the good sides of a lower dwell though are being more air efficient and it will lower the volume of the gun when it shoots.

if you lower the dwell too much without some volumizers you won't get enough energy to move the ball sufficiently. It will move down the barrel of course but you'll start to see drop off.
Raising the dwell provides a cushion of air against the ball helping to reduce breaking. but it reduces efficiency (I don't think that's a big deal)
My recommendation is to start with the stock setting. Don't change dwell if you don't have a reason to change it. IF you find that you need to reduce ball breaks (raise dwell, lower pressure, consider volumizers) if efficiency is an issue for you, reduce dwell, get better paint, etc).
My point is dwell is one of many variables that I don't think should be considered for change all by itself.

i have my dwell at 8ms (2 green lights) it worked on 7 but i got first shot drop off if i let it sit for a while. it WILL work on 7 with the large volumizer the lpr at about 55, my buddies was super efficient on those settings, he shoots 6-7 pods a game on around a 3000 fill. i don't have a volumizer but i might pick one up cuz i've seen it run so well with one.
