Un-Safe air tanks
An announcement was made August 12th 2005 by the Department of Transportation (DOT) notifying the public of a safety advisory. In summary the DOT and the Office of the Inspector General are investigating the manufacturing, marking and sale of high pressure DOT Exemption cylinders made and or distributed by Global Composites International, Inc (GCI) Ontario Ca. It is believed that some of these cylinders were not wrapped with sufficient number of carbon fiber layers to insure their structural integrity. The DOT went on to say that Cylinders with the DOT – E 12695 markings should not be used and are considered unsafe resulting in possible extensive property damage, serious injury, or death could result from the rupture of a cylinder. It is quite possible some of these cylinders are being used be paintball players.
In 2005, some Crossfire Nitrogen Systems were manufactured using GCI (Global Composites International) carbon fiber cylinders or tanks. These tanks were manufactured by GCI and supplied to Crossfire with correct U.S. Department of Transportation specification and certification. However, the U.S. Department of Transportation has recently issued a Safety Advisory Notice stating that the GCI tanks are unsafe and could cause serious personal injury, death or property damage. Crossfire Recall (http://www.crossfireinc.com/)
In light of this information, MacDev are issuing a recall of all GCI manufactured bottles . Systems using these bottles must not be used under any circumstances, as using a GCI bottle is potentially hazardous. MacDev takes no responsibility for any accident, harm, injury or damage arising from continued use of GCI bottles. All fault and wrongdoing lies with GCI as the manufacturer of these bottles.

Crossfire and Macdev are effected.
Not sure about other companies, be sure to check your DOT # to be sure that you are safe.
Any tank that matches DOT - E 12695 must be sent back.
I unfortunatly had to send back my tank because it matched the DOT – E 12695.
