The other day, I went to gas up my Angel 04 Speed and get it chronoed. Here's what happened: 1 I turned the ASA in the fully ON postition. 2 turned the Halo B ON 3 turned the speed ON. (everything turned ON fine) . When I went to shoot, all I heard was this "pud" sound everytime I pulled the trigger. I was like whats going on. When I took off the Halo B(after turning the ASA fully off) I saw that there was a ball break in the chamber. I unscrewed the barrel and found some shell also in the chamber. So, I cleaned out the bolt and the chamber. I then repeated steps 1-3 and everything worked fine. This happened to me about three times during the day that i was there. I WASNT USING SENSI either, so that might be a problem. But, I have used an egg in the past with no problems whatsoever. Could it be that the Halo is too strong and busted the detents, or was it that the bolt didnt full c**k when i gassed it up. Or was it something else. Thanks for your help guys. :notsure:

Aftermarket detents help alot with halos. If your egg was working fine I'd say that is your whole problem.

so before you even got a single shot off it chopped?
and later on when it did this again was it randomly, or again after you turned on/ reloaded your halo?
can you tell if it was double feeding or is this a guess?
what kind of paint were u using? was it brittle? out of round?
is your RAM adjusted properly?
how long have you been using this SPEED?
any new changes made before you played?
it could very well be the detents, are they working properly (sliding smoothly with no restriction? are they worn out?)? have you cleaned them lately?
might try stretching the springs a little to see if that helps

yeah, i also think i need different detents, or at least springs, and am looking for suggestions. my halo was definitely the problem on my newly converted speed. Bob gave me brand new detents when he did the eye conversion, so i know it's not that. i'd always used an egg when i had sensi, and never had a problem. now the same thing, no problems with egg or revvy, but with the halo its chopping like at least every third ball. i'm guessing it's pushing past and actually chopping the second ball, but it's essentially the same thing...

ive been using a vic boarded halo on the hardest setting for over a year now with 0 problems. Ken put new detents in when he did my conversion and niether those, nor the ones i had before the conversion gave me any problems. check ure ram, pick up a soft face bolt and if ure still having problems you could try streching the springs.

yeah, i have a softface-bolt and my ram is well adjusted. i guess we'll just try the spring-stretching...

ok, I think Im having welted's problems. Im new to the Angel world, so what is a RAM? How do you fix/adjust it and where is it located in the gun?
To answer Luzrd's questions,No, I wasnt able to fire a single shot before it chopped which is really confusing me. I was using triax paint. Nothing was wrong with the paint. And,this happened pretty randomly. It did this only when I turned the Halo on/off. Soemtimes it wouldn't "chop" and other times, it would. And how would I test/stretch the springs in the detents if I needed too?

and Im about 80% percent positive that it was double feeding. And no adjustments were made to te gun.

a manual will help clarify the parts of the gun... www.wdp.tv/manuals take a peek, it should point you in the right direction

to check the ram adjustment open the breech door and close it, it should click (the little pin clicks on the hammer). also with the halo on the gun, the barrel off the gun, the gun and air OFF(!!!!). turn the halo on with paint, and look through where the barrel should be, and see how far the second ball in the stack is hanging into the breech. if its hanging in enough for the bolt to catch it during the firing cycle, then theres a good chance that u should adjust the ram, see the manual for this.
when i got my first angel (03 speed in 03) i had bought a halo to use on it, one of the first things i did was stretch my detent springs (just to be safe). basically i pulled out the detent springs and stretched them out a little bit (no i really cant explain it differently, i just made them a little longer = })
i have used nothing but a halo on either of my speeds and have never had any problems that i hear associated with angels and halos.
