The only way to turn off the A.I.R is to back the reg all the way out..You can purchase an on/off from cobra or your local paintball store..Most stores should have them in stock

I just purchased my AIR at Warped and they put an on/off switch on my tank, at the elbow going into the macro line. It works.

There's a pic of my gun (with the blue switch showing) under IR3 pics..."Angry Chinaman"....Black Dark IR3.

Ya my pro shop told me it was very hard on the regulator to turn the pressure on and off all the time. I bought a quick disconect for mine (it's a stainless steel hose that u press a button and it'l disconnect from the gun). It will hold the pressure back when you disconnect it. thus it eliminates the on/off, and will make you have the same output pressure all the time. No more turning the alan wrench to turn it on and waste time. I think i payed like $30 or so for the quick disconnect, and it's been worth every penny. Also my certified angel tech, told me to set my output pressure to 500 on the angel air (for my IR3, not sure on LCD's and other guns). It runs optimally on 500 and to adjust the regulator for the fps on the chrono.

I have a 2k2 IR3 and the manual says to set the output psi at 700psi (page 7). Others have said 600-700psi with 650psi being OK.

Where in Tenn did you get the quick disconnect put on?

that's exactly opposite of what Jim said in the AIR thread that got stickied here in this same topic. so someone's gotta be wrong here:puzzled:

The pro shop said that it's hard on the reg= (what i ment was the bearing that holds the pressure back). It's just wear and tear on it to turn it on and off.

whats all that about being able to take off your quick dissconnect when the gun is gassed? i think i have one of those, and i sure as hell can't take mine off when the gun is gassed.....

On mine once you press the button it pops out, and the gun is pretty much degased (except u gotta fire like 1-2 shots to get the rest of the air out.)

The way mine is set-up, you don't have to back the pressure off. The quick disconnect is set-up where you don't have that problem.

Unless the QDC is in before the regulator(which its not) that is a problem cuz the air is still wanting to go through the reg. A hot fill is when air is being forced though the reg to fast. The QDC only stops it from coming out of the output fitting, not the reg. So you are still forcing air though the reg. I will go with Jim on this one. Cobra makes a On/Off Thumb Screw but its extremely hard to turn even with the wrench around 400psi if you have the newer AIR with little doughnut thing on the end of the reg. The reg in this pic is the older style.

Well I called Cobra and was ordering about 5 things and I wanted one. The guy I talked to informed me that the newer style reg will accept it but people have had an extremely tough time on getting the reg passed 400psi. Take you tank down to them to find out and get back to me. I am just going off what Cobra has had complaints about before.

for all the money you pay for an air it should comewith an on/off. thats what is keeping me from buying one. i don't wunna have to mess around with qdc's an turning allen wrenches and what not. i want a tank like like the hyperflo centerflag where yu just push a little button or turn a know or switch like on the maxflow

hey, i would just like to say that i have the first model of the a.i.r and i have a warped on/off switch on mine. ive had it like that for about a year and ive had no problems. but i want to take it off now since i read this forum. ive been shooting angels since i began tournament paintball but never bothered to join this site. now i did and im learning alot. i have another question. what do you guys set your a.i.r at. mine is at 500psi and works fine.

Dirty Dozen......try upping your pressure closer to the 600-650 range. You will notice a significant difference in the performance of your marker. I actually try to get even more specific with mine, I try to get it right between 600-630.

I have a pro-connect attached to my braided line that comes from my tank. I push it in to the conection on my gun and it gasses up. I push the button on the side and the pressure helps push it off. cake.

i am attaching some files of the connection to show you.

The 'quick disconnect' that jackman was talking about is a pro connect. It holds the pressure back when its not connected, and uses a pushbutton to disconnect from the fitting. THese things restrict flow like mad, and are a pain to use.

Also, the only way to use a tradition on/off on an air is to use the warped style on the macro fitting, which leaves the reg pressurized which isnt cool either. The only time its okay to have an on/off is when it is before the regulator (like on apocalypses, and the new max flows).

Yeah it's a Pro Connect, and mine is pretty simple, and easy to use. Also I set mine to output 500psi. That's what my angel tech. recommends, and what WDP recommends on my IR3 and AIR.
