i was bored this afternoon and so i decided to test the capacity of various loaders and pods. I tested three different Halo-B's and an Egg (a friend has my Revvy right now, so i'll do that one whenever i get it back). I tried to shake the loaders as i was filling them so as to get the most efficient packing. The loaders were filled to maximum capacity, so that there was light pressure on the balls when the lid was closed. However, when filled to this capacity the loaders often jammed and didn't feed. Removing 5-10 balls from this maximum capacity allowed the balls to feed properly. also, i had the feed/raceway full and counted those balls in the total.
Hoppers: (maximum capacity values listed, subtract 5-10 for actual useable value)
Halo #1: 188
Halo #2: 191
Halo #3: 187
Egg: 215
For the pod volume comparison, i used a couple pods from five different brands. here again i shook them as they filled to get maximum efficiency. Also, i filled so there was very light pressure on the balls when the lid was closed, so that they didn't shake around, but also weren't under extreme pressure from trying to fit more balls. basically i filled them as i would if i was going out to play.
Pods:
Smart Parts #1: 129
Smart Parts #2: 130
VirusPaintball #1: 139
VirusPaintball #2: 136
VirusPaintball #3: 138
WDP Fat Boy #1: 136
WDP Fat Boy #2: 135
CustomProducts #1: 128
CustomProducts #2: 130
generic iiSports #1: 132
generic iiSports #2: 130
one last note on the paint i was using, because i guess technically the size could affect things by a ball or two. i was just using what random stuff i had laying around, so it was about two-thirds 0.687 and one-third 0.691.
