I've never shot a Stiffi. I like Ultralights better than the Pipe. Quieter and more durable. (The end of a Pipe tip is really thin.)

if u can afford it get a kit like the pipe or empire, even a freak (what i use) so u can match paint to barel but if ur options are limited to a single barel then DYE has never let me down...and carbonfiber while stronger in tensile strength is verry brittle.

yeah im tryin to get away from a kit.. i have an evil pipe and it shoots straight and everything but i just think its a pain to bring all the bore sizes and match the paint.. i don't think its work it... i think im leanin more towards the stiffi though

if your talking about going from a multi-bore barrell system to a single bore you will be very dissapointed. My angel came with an ultralight, one size .689, and the accuracy was horrible, compared to my freak, or the PIPE kit. I got the proper size out of my freak kit .687 for the paint I was using and it was great.

So it takes you another minute maybe to prep for a day of balling. I think it's worth it for the accuracy you gain by matching the paint to the proper bore size. You'll be dissapointed with only having one bore size, I sold my ultralight.

I would def go w/ the stiffi! Their my favorite barrel their incrediably light, accurate, and durable.

I can't enjoy the game if I don't have the paint matched to the barrel bore.

I have a pipe kit. It's my second one. On the first, the barrel split in two. The good news is I got it replaced for free.

But, I consistently use the Hammerhead kit now. Just like it better.

Go with the UL, its light ans wicked accurate. I don't have a Stiffi but i heard they are tight. However in my opinion Dye is a very good company and i only buy their equipment and i have never had a problem. :owned:

I have\have seen stiffis that crack.
I ahve one that i got with my angel, had a nik on the outside which traveled all the way in.
Now theres a burr of carbon fiber hanging down on the inside of the barrel.

i use a freak, and understand about carying all the extra backs around. i found an old drill bit case in my room and i just put some bubble wrap inside and all my incerts fit perfectly,

i would go with the ultralight over the stiffi because if you diecide that you want another bore size then you can get one. and who actually notices a few extra ounces on the barrell?

I was thinking about getting a stiffi too, I just sold my freak kit looking for a single bore size, the thing is I only ever shoot hellfire, and midnight especially out of my gun, so why not just have one size if your shooting one brand of paint? granted this limits you at a tournament when you have to use the field paint...

I like my pipe kit, never have had problems w/ it...though, its tru the tips are kinda thin.

Freak systems...scare me. Because the inserts are ALL thin, and unless you get a stainless steel one....then its also aluminim(wow, I butcher'd that word....) And knowing me....I would bend them up pretty fast...

Stiffie, a friend had one. He had a kit though, but, everyones analysis on it is pretty tru. Kinda easy to chip/knick/crack
UL Kits are sweet. I would get one if I had the cash. But, I would only get it in kit form(basically, at least 3-4 backs.) I have had huge problems with paint sometimes. Breaking and all that jazz due to poor bore/paint match.

UL kits are like $300-$400

there is no point in buying a kit unless you are extremely rich and you plan on keeping your gun for a long long long time.

i have an UL .688, 3 boomsticks .684, .688, .691, and am going to be buying a freak kit

the only reason i have so many Dye barrels is becuase i bought them used. Around me, Angels are not popular so parts have no retail value, i bought the UL for $15, and all 3 Boomys for under $100

best deal imho would be a freak kit, if you get a new gun all you need to do is fork out $40 for a new back and voila you have an entire kit already

thats what i did when i got my angel. i had a freak kit for a cocker, all i needed was a new back and the set was good to go.

Nah, they aint that much. You basically only need a .688 89 and 92. My friend bought those backs, plus a tip for about 125.
I never use .686(Had a boomie with that....WAYYY to small.)

not when you are using paint like hellfire

if i were to buy UL backs on pbgear.com they would be like $60/piece plus another $60 for a front

stiffie's crack at the end of the barrel over time and the anno on the end of the barrel wears off after rubbage on bunkers. I would jsut get a redz pepper stick kit
